I just read the preview and i'm scared to death of what's gonna happen:

The Story: The super-heroes split as the CIVIL WAR heats up! Registration has become law, household names have gone rogue and a Marvel legend makes a decision that will change a life forever. Featuring the NEW AVENGERS, the FANTASTIC FOUR, the YOUNG AVENGERS and pretty much everybody else!
And, no fooling, true believer... this issue features one of the most shocking climaxes in Marvel Comics history. Miss THIS one and you might just regret it for the rest of your life!
32 PGS./Rated T+ ...$2.99

Who is the "Marvel Legend"? Spider-man? Captain America? What do y'all think?

Thankfully im not reading this trash fool me once marvel shame on me fool me twice shame on you. Im never going to read a big event from marvel ever agian.Hopefully after Joe Q leaves everything will be retconed. Hopefully :(.

Sounds to me like it's going to be Spider-Man unmasking himself to the public at the press conference. :)

Would it be fair to say "Gwen Stacy's Death" was the previous champion as the "most shocking climaxes in Marvel History"??.....so what could top that ??.....I'm not buying JQ's "we can't widow spidey" crap.....if this isn't simply another case of Marvel hyperbole.....MJ's gone!!

Well, I'd say Spider-Man unmasking himself and making his identity public would pretty much trump Gwen Stacy being tossed off a bridge.

Not if they retcon it two issues later...and they probably will.

I think Marvel is easily a contender for the guiness world record of using the term "shocking" more than anyone.

God, I'm so tired of previews with "most shocking climaxes", "turning his world upside down" and whatever in it. Really, it doesn't even makes me curious anymore

When does this issue come out? I have the first. Poor Johnny Storm...

Eh, I don't care one way or the other until I read it. The issue as a whole better be damn good though; I wasn't impressed with first issue at all.

Well I won't argue what's essentially a judgment call, but it would appear that Pete unmasking happens at the beginning, the way I read the preview, the climax would seem to happen at the end.

spider-man and iron man unmask...

you can see an interview tih an unmasked spidey as preview in the new thunderbolts book...

as i allways keep saying: im so glad i quit 616 after morlun...
im so glad...

After reading Civil War & all of the Annihilation event books, I can say that I am a TRUE BELIEVER once again!

W@W! W@W! W@W!

So far it's pretty well written. I wasn't sure and at least issue didn't let me down at all. If you can stand his very political writing style, Mark Miller is great.

He is at least making it interesting and fit well.

Well, stop reading previews and it won't bother you anymore. :)

I've heard several of Captain America's (former) allies are going to beat him unconcious and SHIELD is going to arrest him on national television...

Seriously.

It's then that Peter will begin to turn on Stark, as Peter has a serious case of "hero worship" in regards to Cap. Dozens of the more "underground" heroes will witness the live coverage of the governments beat-down of the Living Legend Of WWII, and begin to rally around Cap...(MoonKnight, Cable, Punisher, etc.,...)

If they do that, AND have Peter unmask....i'll have a bloody fanboy annuerysm right here in my den, lol.

If you looks at what's happening to the heroes in this arc, it's not much different than the fight for civil rights in the 60's. Despite turning against the government and becoming fugitives, the heroes have to stand up for their rights as human beings. Pete being the kind of guy he is, shouldn't just turn himself over and endanger his family so big brother doesn't hunt him down, he should stand his ground and fight for something he has worked so hard to maintain for so many years.

That would definitely make this miniseries quite intense. I have a feeling this might happen in some shape or form, considering that it's Millar writing this...he could get away with having heroes mop the floor with Cap. :o

But I think what Spidey fans are waiting for the most is when Peter turns on Tony.

I know I am. I've never been a big fan of Tony Stark as it is and seeing Spidey turn on him is the only reason I read Civil War.
