I could have sworn before the remake of the first RE came out, Capcom said they would also be remaking RE2 and RE3. But instead they just ported them on the Gamecube.

I won't say for sure since it happened, but I'm pretty sure they never actually said that. A lot of people assumed it, since REMake was said to be the beginning of bring every major game in the franchise to the GCN.

It can be easy to see how that was misinterpreted, but common sense should tell that they weren't going to put all those resources into remaking games that were, at that point, fairly recent (REMake came out in 2002, RE2 came out in 1998 originally, just for reference). REMake probably wouldn't have happened without some funding from Nintendo to begin with if rumors about their direct involvement with the game's production are to be believed, and they probably would've had to put in as much to get those fully remade. And I'm guessing between REMake, Zero, and getting the franchise over in full to begin with already cost them a good deal.

I didn't pay much attention to the GC when I first started playing RE but later when I went and picked up some old GC games I heard they were supposed to have done the REmake to RE2/3. I had picked up the original REmake and MGS:TS and went to look at the RE games, I almost bought them when I noticed the graphics were almost the same as I had on PS1. I was pissed. The store selling them had a markup of around 150% but they were the only ones I could get in the city and Ebay was even more expensive.

So I bought RE6 and Operation Raccoon City last week for $15, and so far I really enjoy them; much better than 5 was. I don't understand a lot of the criticisms I heard about them.

It's still a guilty pleasure of mine, but I agree that it's not better than 5. Now ORC's concept with the gameplay of 5, that would have been golden.

I don't know if i want to watch that. But going by the title of mashing buttons and wiggling sticks, I felt it was soooooo overdone in 4 and got worse in 5; I felt happy it felt downplayed in 6.

So far yeah. 5 had good parts, but it was far too action-driven and not enough horror. 4 was action driven as well, but there were still a lot of creep and scare factors that 5 was missing.

My immediate thoughts on the game though after beating all 4 campaigns.

Is Leon ever gonna stop being emo?
Leon's campaign was best.
Sherry<3<3<3<3<3 I actually like what they did with her.
Wesker's son didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.
Pierce is sexy.
Why did they try pulling a Captain America/Bucky relationship with Chris and Pierce?
Why is Chris a roided up *****ebag idiot?
I really wanted Chris to die, his face was bothering me.
Why does Ada look less Asian than usual?
The hell is Ada wearing?

And when will we get a full on team up co-op game with Chris, Jill, Claire, Leon, Ada, Sherry, and Jake? And some extra characters Barry, Rebecca, Carlos, Sheva, Helena, even Ark; more could be done with him.

What's everyone's opinions on Revelations?

And what about the Damnation movie?

I was mianly talking about RE6 since that's the one I've been playing most.

The worst thing I've found about ORC so far is the escaping of the Lickers and that no one is ever online to play.

And she's been Asian since RE2, and RE4, and from what I've seen in Damnation, she's Asian there.

The only time she looked Asian to me is when she got adapted to live action

Ada is an American with Chinese descent. Its very possible she is biracial, having an Asian and Caucasian parent. Her first appearance in RE2 is a bit hard to make out considering how low the polygon counts were back then. Going off RE4, which had more realistic faces, she doesn't look 100% Asian.

That honestly doesn't look too far off from her RE 6 appearance

Heck in fact Id say she looks slightly more Asian in 6 bc there is a bit more slant to her eyes. Considering we don't know anything about her parents or family, Im going with the theory that she is biracial

Being half-East Asian and half-white myself, I've always thought Ada looked biracial.

No not every Asian does but that's typically how the race is depicted artistically in fictional pieces. One can go take a look at any number of cartoons, comics, videogames, etc... and pull up hundreds of examples. It just happens to be a physical characteristic that many creators will use. Its no surprise why people would look to that for clues to her ethnicity when still very little is known of her background

oh yeah the game showed and stated she was an operative and she she did an audition for umbrella's spy division apparently she's not the only one just the one this series focus's on. when she was young, and that Simmons wanted her for him self after she did some missions for him, but she rejected him cause she didn't like how he looked at her which is where his obsession with her began and why he had a double made of her using his assistant some time later as years went by. she never worked exclusive fully for that family ever cause she didn't like him at all and raccoon city seem to bethe final straw for her. . He also gave her the creeps the day he was at that audition did those missions.

she was just an operative to umbrella and started out from there after Simmons had Raccoon city destroyed. and as to that movie that 6 was linked to that Tron bonne mentioned that movie show cases infighting among the left overs of the old umbrella in Russia and Ada was for the side that came to steal info making the bio hazards there. it seem's there still alot of people they didn't catch and I think I mentioned in a previous thread before.

it's even stated on capcom's resident evil wika that they run and own themselves. that's the way capcom seem's to be pushing it any how.


there are stragglers of umbrella still around and there's infighting and whom ever win's starts a bio horror attack, for the current story saying they are new current incarnation of umbrella.

I just read through Ada's convoluted history above and I'm in the reboot camp. Go full new 52 on the series. It been long enough there are tons of gamers that have never played 0-3, maybe add a little more action but don't get too far away from survival horror. I can dream I guess..... since re7 is rumored to be announced at e3 Im sure it will never happen.
