Resident Evil Zero HD remaster likely leaked
Published 1 min ago. 0 comments.

Resident Evil Zero game icon shows up on pre-order theme.
Capcom seems to have leaked a high-definition remaster of Resident Evil Zero in the same vein of its upcoming Resident Evil HD remaster.
In an update to the Resident Evil HD remaster’s official website showcasing a special theme included with pre-orders of the PlayStation 4 version in Japan, the second image shows a Resident Evil Zero game icon on the PlayStation 4 menu.

The HD remaster of Resident Evil is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on January 20.
Thanks, NeoGAF.

Now they are remastering RE0 as well?
My collection joy shall be complete if that was true.

Zero was good. I don't know if I'd rebuy it again, though.

These HD Remakes should be coming to the Wii U. They're Gamecube games originally dammit.

Yeah, it's pretty odd, but they did get re-released on Wii so they're still playable on a Wii U.

so they're planning a RE 0 HD remake but no word yet on RE 2 HD remake

Capcom better make one. RE 2 is my all time favorite RE game

0 isn't getting a remake; the rumor is that it will be receiving a remaster just like the other post PS1 era games

I'd love to have that airship build of Resident Evil 4...with the stormy castle and all.

Yeah, I think people get confused with the two terms. A remake is when something is built from the ground up, but based on a previous game (such as REMake or The Twin Snakes). This is a remaster, which is pretty much just upscaling the game to HD. It's like, thinking in terms of films, Friday the 13th released in 2015 was a totally different film based (loosely) on the original movie, making it a remake. Friday the 13th, the original 1980 movie, released on Blu-ray was a remaster of the same 1980 film just updated with better video and audio (in theory).

Well even this REmake isn't a complete ground up remake. It's basically a remaster of the Gamecube version of Resident Evil, which was the remake.

yeah technically with the exception of choosing the play stye of "old control's" with "current." that's what change's it from the norm

Those things are gorgeous. 10/10 would run screaming in fear.

I think I'm going to end up buying REMake HD. Wasn't sure on it, since I have the original and generally don't buy HD remasters if I have the originals, but I'm pretty curious to see how it plays with the new, non-tank controls. Apparently, people are saying it basically breaks the game, but I'm still super curious.

Not sure how it could break the game, its just another option for moving your characters. Its not like they've added in a bunch of dodge rolls and the like.

But yea, im curious as well as to how those new controls will play.

From what I'm reading, the new controls basically makes your character move very quickly and precisely, making it much easier to get away from even the faster enemies.

Ah, interesting. Unless it actually alters the physical speed of your character im still not sure how it'd matter. Even with the originals games controls, once you were used to them, they became second nature, just like any other game. Maybe the first hour or 2 they'd present a problem, but after that, no issues as you became accustomed to them.

Still, I look forward to trying out the new control scheme. I just cant wait to play through this game period. Its been a while since iv last booted up my Gamecube to play this.

I don't know if gameplay is directly sped it up, but being able to move precisely in any direction is going to naturally speed you up. The whole point of tank controls was to slow you down, make your movements very unprecise and, at times, frustrating.

Tank controls are always going to be slower than a multi-directional control scheme. With tank, you have to stop and then position in the direction you want, and then go. With multi-directional, you can correct any position you want at any time on the fly.

I am interested in how it'll work, since the original RE had a fixed camera depending on where you were on the stage, and it would change sometimes. It was one reason why they even made the tank control to begin with, as the game was created before there were analog sticks(DualShock).
