Pretty sure the physical copy releases in March across all the platforms.

Awesome news. I need a new RE game. I know RE6 was a HUGE disappointment, but I liked the first Revelations quite a bit. Wish it was coming to 3DS like the first.

This popped up early for Xbone. First episode is really solid. The character models and animations look great, but the environments show it's a budget title. Raid mode is still fun, though I remember how grindy it got in the first game. Overall, a good experience so far.

The co-op aspect is actually better than I expected. The second player actually isn't completely hopeless like they seemed to imply before, both have melee weapons. I don't have two Bone controllers, but I think this could potentially be interesting. It might be my favorite co-op balance so far in regards to playing solo. In RE5, the AI just sucked and you were stuck playing by yourself anyway in a game clearly designed for two people. In RE6, you AI partner might as well have not been there, neither a hindrance or a help. Here, I actually found myself swapping back and forth between the two, because the function of the two are different and compliment each other. I won't be surprised if a lot of people dislike it, though. I except a lot of complaining about "having" to swap between the two (despite the fact that you could easily just play as Claire or Barry the whole time if you wanted to) and how one side is not proactive but mostly defensive. But I like the balance.

From what I've read, the PS4 version seems to suffer a lot of issues including this and crashing.

All I have to say is... Brick is too damn OP :wow:

I don't know, it only takes like three hits to kill something with it, but then you have to go pick it up again, and if it breaks before something dies you have to go search for another one.

So, apparently people have been digging in the code for the PC version and come up with all kinds of spoilers and stuff based on the files they've found. Stuff like the identity of the Overseer and all of the Raid Mode characters that will be released. They have also found descriptions of what the two bonus episodes will include. They are both story episodes and different game modes apparently. Here is a post I saw on GAF about them for those that are curious. There's not any real story spoilers, but those really sensitive, I'll keep them tagged:

Bonus Episode 1 stars Moria, she is with a 'mysterious old man', apparently. She has a slightly different costume in this episode than her main costume, wearing gloves, a scarf, etc. Apparently, in this episode/game mode, it's all about survival. You need to hunt animals (rabbits, birds, snakes, rats) to get rations, and if you have no rations when you die, you get a game over and have to start all over. Says you can only quit when you get to a checkpoint, if you quit when not at a checkpoint you have to start all over. Some new game mechanics, seems to be a lot more punishing and describes itself as 'a test of survival skills".

The second bonus episode stars Natalia, apparently in this she's looking for a friend of hers, and for some reason in this game mode you work with another Natalia, who looks a lot like Natalia but has different hair, a necklace, and wears a black dress, but who's name is also Natalia. This game mode and episode looks absolutely weird in the texture shots for it, it shows the island like it's super psychedelic or something, with purple and pink fog everywhere. In this game mode. the White Natalia must absolutely not be spotted by enemies, if she gets spotted, it's game over. However, the Black Natalia cannot be sensed by enemies at all, and can walk freely, but cannot interact with anything in the world. Have a big open sandbox level, and apparently need to find letters and photos with clues of where your friend may be.

I don't mean to kill with it. The mere act of just tossing it knocks an enemy over and Barry can follow up for the kill. It breaks chains on doors fer cryin out loud. :woot: Little girl is too strong. I feel safer with a brick in hand than a shotgun.

No idea. But it seems the PC version is having a lot of issues, too.

Just saw that u can play as Hunk in the raid mode. Went ahead and snagged the full season.

What's everyone's thoughts on the title so far? Either the raid mode or story.

I posted my impressions a little above. As far as the story, it's alright so far. About the average RE story it seems like. Though the way in which they've modeled Claire and Moira's campaign after Kafka is quite good so far, bit of a step above really.

Word. I just played a little of the campaign before jumping into the raid mode as Hunk(which is the primary reason I bought it). So far I'm digging it. Interested to see what evil is behind everything.

Seeing this picture, I can't help but feel there was a missed opportunity in there somewhere... Like this should have been RE6.

I mean, it pretty much was? Claire and Jill were absent, but counting Jake as a Wesker fill-in this is pretty much the cast of RE6 plus the two or so new cast members introduced.

Why? RE6's issues werent its cast. As Tron mentions, only Jill and Claire were absent from the playable roster

Has anyone played Revelations 2 with a co-op partner yet? I'm sure I'll eventually get this and play it with my brother but we've held off so far after reading that only one player gets a gun at a time. So I'm curious, can players switch between characters in co-op taking turns as the main character? Maybe take turns between the Clair and Barry segments? Anyone played both and have an opinion on which is better?

Sounds like the raid mode is pretty good.

Jake worked better than I thought. I was worried they'd carry over the Chris/Wesker rivalry with him, and glad that it didn't amount to more than Chris thinking Jake looked familiar.

What virus or parasite is involved in the new game?

Well, just to be sure you know, there's no online co-op. It's all local. They've said online will be patched into Raid, but there are no plans to put online into the main campaign. If you know that, as far as switching, well I guess you could just swap controllers?

I liked both campaigns about equally.

It's not been revealed yet. A lot of people have hacked into the files and gotten a lot of stuff about the story so you could probably find it if you googled it.

Well the Uroboros makes a return as one of the viruses.

Yeah, I actually learned about the local-only co-op shortly after posting. I always just assume games like this will have online co-op. Oh well, we'll probably wait til the next we're visiting and play local.

Thanks.

Sorry if its been said, but is it known when the online co op will drop for the Raid mode?
