Capcom The Resident Evil Thread

I wanna play 0 and the Gamecube REmake so bad. They're making another remake for the first one, though. That's odd.

If you have a PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, or decent PC, you can play the Gamecube exclusive REs now. They also aren't remaking the first one again? Maybe you're thinking of them remaking RE2.

I'm hoping RE2 make will surpass it, for obvious reasons...

But, I'm sadly doubtful - which is understandable, right?

Iv got no reason to be, but im strangely optimistic that the new RE2 will be what we want. I think seeing the success of the REmake on the newer consoles helped shed light on what the RE fans want, but then again as Tron said, from a pure numbers standpoint, the newer RE's sold like gangbusters. So who the hell knows. Im standing by my optimism though. Hope i don't get boned.

I don't doubt that a RE2 remake with the post-RE4 camera angle can work, but it just won't be as good as a RE2 remake in the old style. It just won't be.

Resident Evil HD came out last year, long before a bundle was even offered

I only got my PS4 at the beginning of Jan so that doesn't count for me. All I know I now they offer the 2 games in a bundle called RE Origins.

If you've never played the Resident Evil REmake, I f'ing envy you, what a damn treat you are in for, especially if you claim to be a big fan of the classic RE1 game. The REmake is a survival horror masterpiece that has still yet to be rivaled.

Yeah I can't wait, loved RE1 and RE2 on PS1. Never owned a console from then until now though did play RE5 on my brothers PS3 and loved it. A remake of RE1 and 2 and the upcoming one of FF7 are big factors in me getting a PS4.

I mean...it's still going to be available to you if it's offered separately so I don't know how it doesn't count for you?

Well, as a disc they are bundled together, I don't have a SEN account to purchase online.

I still new to online stuff anyway so if I sound confused it means I am!

well you should consider signing up for one, bc if im not mistaken, you need an online account to download any patches, updates and free content. Its free and doesnt take much effort

Huh. Cool. I need a new PS3. I didn't take care of mine and it's acting really funny. Time to move my handle to a different machine. I know, I could get a PS4, but I'm thinking a better 500GB PS3 for right now. I'll jump on the PS4 train at some point.

Also, cool avatar and name. :)

Last time I tried to sign up for one it said there was a charge, I can pay monthly or yearly. Will be signing up to it end of next month when I have more money, anyway I have ordered the RE origins bundle.

I think maybe you're confusing signing up for PSN account and signing up for PS Plus, which is Sony's version of Xbox Live basically. Just like Xbox, you can sign up for PSN free of charge and still purchase things, download updates, etc. If you want to play online, you have to pay for PS Plus, and Plus also offers discounts and monthly free games

I probably am, as I said the last console I owned was PS1 so online gaming is something very new to me.

Started Zero first seeing as it's the prequel and I know the story of RE1 already. It's okay so far,mis it a particularly long game or quite short?

Like most of the older RE games, it's actually pretty short but the first time through it'll take a decent while if you go through it without a guide and don't know where to go and the puzzles and stuff.

Yeah I am finding it quite hard actually, harder than I remember RE1 and 2 being. There seems to be a lack of green plants and first aid sprays about so I am often dying due to lack of health from a previous encounter.

Watch out for Kijuju's infected residents.

Umbrella-Corps_02-12-16.jpg

Capcom has unveiled a new “Kijuju” map for Umbrella Corps, its upcoming Resident Evil-themed multiplayer third-person shooter.

Based on Resident Evil 5, Kijuju is the biggest map in Umbrella Corps, with plenty of open areas and webbed underground passages. Like other maps, not only must you watch out for the other team, but also other enemy threats. In this map, the infected Kijuju inhabitants, called the “Majini,”

will attack you as you fight against the other team.

Umbrella Corps is due out for PlayStation 4 and PC in May.

Heh, me too. It's so generic looking, too. There's nothing I've seen to really distinguish it. I wish they would've just done a big budget Mercenaries game in this vein. I feel like that would be a lot better and potentially sell a lot better, too.

I may, but I'll wait for a drop. It's $40 if I remember, probably not going to pay that.

A $40 download only is a killer for me. I haven't seen anything mind blowing to justify that price tag.

In March 1996, the world was introduced to the first Resident Evil game, which helped shape survival horror as we know it and has since brought you some of the most loved games of all time. You’ve been able to play through the origins stories that started everything with the recent releases of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0, and we’ve confirmed that a remake of Resident Evil 2 is on the way. Since then, the series and story have evolved to amp up the action and introduce new epic gaming moments with Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6. If you haven’t had a chance to play these yet or if you’ve been wanting to play them on your current consoles, we’ve got good news for you. Starting with Resident Evil 6 on March 29, all three games will be available for PS4 and Xbox One for an MSRP of only $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99 each.Physical disc versions will also be available in the Americas.
