*sigh* my excitement went from way up when I saw the RE7 video, to complete disgust when I actually saw the video and them confirming it was going to be in first person.

Guess I'll wait for RE2 remake to get my fill of Resident Evil.

I am seriously livid right now. Over 15 years of support and those ****ers at Capcom have the nerve to finally go there and turn Resident Evil first person. They don't give a damn about loyal old school fans such as myself. We get nothing. We deserve nothing. I can't wait for the first person remake of RE2. God, I couldn't be more angry right now.

People wanted RE 0-4 again, not a Silent Hill clone. RE is about bio-organic weapons, not ghosts and the supernatural.

Yep, I think this might be the end of the line for me.

As much as I love the old games, it's not like I was asking for the new games to have pre-rendered backgrounds and tank controls. I get progress, I'm fine with progress but first person is a bridge too far for me. And the game doesn't even look like a Resident Evil game. I hate Capcom right now. Hate them.

Since Crapcom are shoving this putrid trash on us can we at least please get an RE2 remake in the vain of the RE1 remake? The backgrounds can be real time for all I care but outside of that can we old schoolers at least have that as a sort of swan song to the main series at least.

We get the first really good tease for a Resident Evil game since the early stuff for RE5 (which the game didn't live up to), and people are actually complaining? And if I am honest, the only truly great RE game is 4 imo. The rest do not play well, even the ones that came after. And that creative team is not walking through that door.

I love ReMake and RE2. They play pretty horribly. Onimusha and Devil May Cry, much better then the Resident Evil games from the late 90s early 00s. Samurai Resident Evil and the "failed" RE4 are better then the actual Resident Evil games not named 4. 4 is an all timer with the gameplay to match the atmosphere.

How so? You think they are better or not similar? Because Onimusha is a Resident Evil style game, and much better then the actual Resident Evil games. Same for the sequel. Devil May Cry was the results of a failed attempt at making 4, and again much better.

Is some regions, but not US. It seems like it may be in the same vein as P.T. as there seems to be a loop going on. I don't know, I can't get quite a good handle on it as of now from what I'm reading. Not sure if it's properly been beat as of yet.

I think it looks creepy, and has potential. I remember when Metroid Prime was announced, people were saying the same thing. I'll try this out, and hopefully it turns out to be like Prime.

Exactly. Us disagreeing is nothing new, but why is that necessary? It isn't like I said the Resident Evil games are garbage nor did I blow you off like you are crazy. I simply said there is one great game in the series imo, and that is down to gameplay. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy them.

Onimusha took the tank controls and made them work because of how it matches well with sword fighting. Devil May Cry basically created the modern Hack and Slash genre, and did so as a great game imo.

People who never liked Resident Evil in the first place opinions don't matter to me on this subject. I'm not trying to be harsh but that's how I feel.

Frankly I am sick of RE4 bandwagoners pretending that they care about the series. You don't care about the series from the beginning, fine we just won't discuss it. Because once that is your opinion we have absolutely nothing to discuss. It's like me discussing FPS games. I hate them, that's the end of the discussion for me. I'm not going to try to convince everyone else to loathe them as well.

Why was...what necessary? I have no idea what you inferred from that, it was just my way of walking away from that conversation. Like I said, the comparison shows that we're on two very different plains and we're not going to see eye to eye, I can just tell, because there's no way in a thousand years I would ever compare Resident Evil to those two in any context, and I'm not going to get into any kind of extended debate about it.

If you think that the old games are bad and bizarrely compare them to action games, games that aren't even in the same genre then we have nothing to discuss.I cherish the RE oldschool games, I don't agree that they are bad but fun.

I try not to shut down convos anymore but this convo will lead to no place even remotely okay.
