If 6 was COD with Resi characters, then 7 might be TWD with Resi characters, and that's actually a good basis, giving that particular franchise's success.

People who never liked Resident Evil in the first place opinions don't matter to me on this subject. I'm not trying to be harsh but that's how I feel.

Frankly I am sick of RE4 bandwagoners pretending that they care about the series. You don't care about the series from the beginning, fine we just won't discuss it. Because once that is your opinion we have absolutely nothing to discuss. It's like me discussing FPS games. I hate them, that's the end of the discussion for me. I'm not going to try to convince everyone else to loathe them as well.

Exactly!!! To say RE4 is the only TRUE RE game is ludicrous.

I've been a fan since the first one, bad acting and tank controls. I loved it. Then RE 2 came out and to this day it's still my favorite all time game. 3 was good, but around that time I was playing Code Veronica more. I even bought the side games like Dead Aim and Outbreak.

But this? I didn't care that Umbrella Corps was going to be a FPS because it's a side game, but this is the main game. And to make it a supernatural, FPS, Silent Hill clone is beyond F***ing stupid!

I know they're remaking 2 and rumors of 3, but beyond that, I'm done with the franchise.

I think the greater fandom would have been more accepting of RE6 if they'd kept the scope but set it after the apocalypse: ruins haunted by the B.O.W.s unleashed by Carla's people/The Family/Veltro terrorists.

That's the vibe I get from the RE7 trailer. We're going in after the end, as opposed to witnessing or trying to avert the end.

A supernatural angle, a straight supernatural angle, seems unnecessary. I wouldn't be opposed to them taking the Leon's infected concept from the early builds of RE4; here there were enemies that were seemingly supernatural, but really it was their way of showing Leon succumbing to his infection.

RE6 wasn't COD with RE characters. At this point, it doesn't look like any mainline RE characters will be in this game, at least not as you playing them. It's been the end of the world since RE2.

I hope the seemingly supernatural stuff is just for the teaser or a hallucination, or something. The ghost girl seems like a nod to P.T. but no idea about the mannequins.

Perhaps it's just a dream sequence - a red herring. I think Andre is the creature at the end.

that's kind of a downer for me, as I tend to stay away from 1st person games.

I thought they were going back to the classic roots of RE, so I don't know why they would change it to first person.

we don't need the return of the "tank" controls, but it should still be 3rd person.

that being said, the trailer looked interesting so I'll still give this a shot.

Doesn't really feel like outlast to me.. Finding the objects and whatnot still felt like RE.. and who knows.. Maybe only one part of the game is in first person?

It's definitely not going back to the roots. There's bits and pieces of the demo/teaser that feel RE, but it's wildly different than older RE. It is closer to Outlast, but you can find an axe in the demo, so there's going to be combat of some kind. The demo seems like it's holding some type of secret that's not been unlocked yet. You can find an axe and a dummy finger, but no one has discovered their proper use.

I've been playing it, and it's okay. There's not a lot, too. It's very much inspired by P.T. There's a way to get an ending, but no one is sure if that's the "real" ending or not. There's two items you can find that no use has been found for, yet. And there's a "ghost" sightings, seven found so far, so no one is sure what that is about.

Some people are thinking it's just basically a tech demo to show off the mechanics, but there's still the two items that no one has found a use for.

Hopefully the supernatural stays out of Resident Evil. The franchise doesn't need that. There are plenty of other supernatural game franchises that can take care of that.
