Why, though? I think he'd be much more likely to just wear a mask. That would be a lot easier to take off if/when he needed to deal with folks that he'd rather keep his ruthless mercenary persona hidden from. I understand that he is only known as Bane, but I'm guessing there will be moments in Nolan's film where being anonymous will work to his advantage. Plus, it would be a lot less painful. I think a facial tattoo is a bad idea and would hope they distance themselves as much as possible from that corny WWE inspired characterization.

well dk, my version of catwoman (which i was gonna do in a comic with SFA, remember that guy? he was great), was that she stole things that had to do with like...animal rights. maybe she stole diamonds that were mined in a place where they killed wildlife, i don't know something along those lines. kinda like in TAS. so perhaps she uses the symbol of a cat to represent her animal rights acts. she's like an eco-terrorist for kitties.

The question I keep coming up with is who is he hiding from? And I don't see how it's anything remotely inspired by some WWE crap, what it boils down to keeping the spirit of the look of Bane in tact which is what Nolan has done, he didn't outright give Two-Face a split suit but he payed homage to it via the burns the suit suffered. Same principles to Bane.

I have to disagree. Kudos on the overall design, it definitely looks like something Nolan's team might come up with...I just personally don't think the mask makes him look intimidating enough. He looks too much like a goofy wrestler, and while I know the character IS a wrestler, there must be some way you can incorporate a mask that looks closer to the comic version, whether through red lenses over the eyeholes or some kind of scuba-like apparatus covering the mouth.

Obviously no one can tell at this point what the character will look like in the final film, but I would hope it would be something that is either close to the comics, or TOTALLY BADASS (or both).

I believe it was December 2007. It coincided with the release of the special passes of the prologue. But we got the image with the official logo way before that. Strangely, we even got the (announcement) teaser before we actually got an official poster.
