  • Because he has to (OCD)

  • Because he wants to(complete free will)

I've been saying for ages that the most interesting and/or likely scenarios for the Riddler are:

1. Employee of Wayne Tech, possibly involved in Bruce Wayne's Honk Kong business/Mr. Lau money laundering for Maroni. There's a definitly a subplot in all this. Has WayneTech somehow been invo9lved in criminal activities?

2. Nigma is a FBI criminal profiler investigating the Joker. He has scenes with Lucious Fox after Joker attacks the WayneTech funded party. Since he's intrisincally corrupt Nigma ends up being drafted by Maroni to solve the Batman problem. He's playing both sides and trying not to get caught in the middle.

3. My favourite possibility, Nigma takes the place of Vernon Fox as Dent's brilliant but corrupt assistant. While he appears to be helping Dent solve cases he's actually a clever little imposter who sets up false trails and convictions to thwart true justice. On Maroni's payroll. When Batman finds out he tells Dent who forces Nigma to testify against Maroni or face the courts himself, a dodgy, under-the-table deal from Dent. But Nigma knows he'll be killed if he testifies, so he goes to Maroni and they arrange to put Dent out of action. In the end Dent realises that criminals are more frightened by other criminals than they are of justice and law. Enter Two-Face.

Isn't the title a little spoiler-plottwist-ish?

You do know how to read, right?

Egads...that's beautiful.

1. Probable and it could definitely be done. I'd have no objection.
2. Meh.
3. LOVE IT!!! This would be great. I think it would actually give Nigma's character more depth and would embed him deep into the storyline nicely, especially for when he eventually turns into The Riddler. Well done.

I still think Will Arnett would be a great Riddler. He's got a quirky sense of humour and I think he could pull off an eccentric, obsessive-compulsive, yet darker Riddler wihout a problem.

aye! good choice there.

Holy cow, it was just a thread title. My bad, I didn't know it would get everyone's panties ruffled. I have no idea if the Riddler is in it or not, just heard rumors like everyone else on this site. Didn't mean to ruin your day. Should I change the title to " if there might, possibly be a slight, but not for sure chance, that a guy who wears a green suit with question marks on it--not saying he might be the Riddler, but if by some small chance he maybe was, how, and this is pure speculation, would you want him to play off the other possilbe villians in this story"

Oh my God Infringment, Infringment , Infringment, Ban him, Ban him. This title is the work of satan. do not look directly at the title you will turn to stone.

how about:

4. some nutjob guy who is obsessed with riddles and puzzles who wants to get the best of the world's greatest detective, so he creates a persona for himself and goes on a crimespree to humiliate the batman?

BEAUTIFUL, My only problem with that would be IMO The Riddler is too arrogant to work under somebody else.

This guy really has the Nigma look. With all the great choices out there, if AMH turns out to actually be the Riddler I'll be a little pissed:cmad:

when was the first mention or occurrence that the Riddler's name is Edward Nigma? how far back does this go?

I think it would be cool if the Riddler was never even seen until the very end of the movie. The entire movie could be a mystery as to who this "Riddler" really is and the ending could catch everyone by surprise- kinda like The Prestige

so has AMH been confirmed for Nygma?

no. there is no basis in the rumor at all.

Well, there is some basis for the rumor. Jett's report made an obvious reference to The Riddler in regards to who Anthony is playing.

-Matchbox

I don't have a choice for who I think should play the Riddler just yet...but what qualities should the actor have..? A comedic background? what exactly are YOU guys lookin for?

I think AMH will be better in the "im copying batman" role and being a vigilante
along with the sons of batman as another group

So you have the mafia groups, SOBs,AMH just getting in everyones way and Batman. AMH further adding to the confusion as to confusing the bad guys who have yet seen batman for real, as to who batman is

Jett already confirmed Riddler (or maybe it's just Edward Nashton for now) in TDK, in his 8 burning TDK questions article.

Jett doesn't know. the whole thing started with filmick, who admitted to just posting whatever people email him. that in turn got cited as confirmation, and then got emailed to all the other forums. Jett has been fooled by a fool.

Fact or a hunch? Because Jett doesn't jump on a rumour and claim it as fact until he gets further confirmation. For example, The Joker's supposed purple car that LR and a bunch of other sites posted, or the fake-Heath manip that made its rounds. Every other site jumped on those, claimed them as fact, but Jett did nothing. I have ever reason to believe that if he states it as 100% fact, then it's fact until something drastic happens (like when Matt Damon turned down Dent back in October), but I doubt they'll get rid of Nashton this far into filming.

i think these "confirmations" are ultimately all coming from the same place. there has been nothing - NOTHING - to suggest that AMH is Riddler or that Riddler is even in this movie. not even AMH's own words in multiple interviews.

yes, i know you're a jett lover and i know you had a schizophrenic meltdown thread about it.
