Character You Would Like To Play: Bruce Banner aka The Incredible Hulk

Powers: Bruce Banner is considered one of the smartest man on earth. He has a wide array of specialist subjects, including biology, chemistry, psychology, engineering and nuclear science. His mind exceeds IQ tests and any other intelligence examinations, and his intelligence is unrivalled by any other scientist walking the face of the earth.

The hulk has seemingly (and nearly literally) unlimited power and strength depending on emotional state, particularly anger (don’t make him angry, you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry). But that’s not just true for his strength, his endurance, durability and the ability to self-heal also vary with a relativity to his anger or madness. He can also, somehow, regenerate or grow tissue in order to survive in uncharted or strange territories, including in space and underwater.

Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): During a seemingly controlled detonation of a gamma bomb, genius Bruce Banner spots a teen passing by the experimental field. He rushes to the kid, Rick Jones, pushing him in a trench and bearing the brunt of the explosion. He wakes up days later, dazed and confused, but seeming – and shockingly – unscathed.

Pre-Mutant, Post-Mutant, Or Other? (Beings unpowered or of cosmic origin): Born unpowered. I guess that’s what you mean?

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:
1. The Hulk is the ultimate badass. After two years of running a character in an eFed who was primarily known for is anger and his rage, I believe that I’ll already have a head-start in portraying the Hulk’s rages and bouts of extreme anger.

2. Although I enjoy writing about the physical presence and abilities of my characters, I also want to branch out a little. Bruce Banner is one of the smartest men on earth, and strength and intelligence seem to be two polar opposites when it comes to RPG characters. It’s good that I can begin to branch out whilst still sticking to my strengths.

3. He’s green, goddamnit!

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person (IE: How are you changing him or her?): I’m going to try and stick pretty closely to the character, but I guess I want to make the Hulk more humane, but keep the scientist emotionly distant.

Two Complete Sentences In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I believe I have enough ability and enthusiasm to make a mark on this game and become a stable, dependable part of the universe. I have a lot of role-playing experience, stretching from offline games to efedding, thus leading me to believe I can adapt and slot nicely into a superhero RP game.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I open my eyes. There’s nothing around. A white wall lies directly in front of me, blurred thanks to the unstable state of my eyes. Slowly but surely, we come into focus. And hey presto, the wall’s still white, and only the cracks between the breeze blocks become a little more defined. I try to move my head. I can’t. Only the sad, bitter, repetitive sound of the machines to the right make the room something more than a slightly-furnished magnolia prison cell.

I manage to flicker my eyes. The window lies somewhere to the right, curtains drawn and starlight creeping in through the crack. The door somewhere to the left, closed securely to keep an unconscious man imprisoned. I still can’t move.

I remember the blast, vaguely. What was the kid doing walking along the test zone? I’d saved a boy that I didn’t even know and risked my own life. How heroic of me. I still… can’t… move… He strained his neck. Frustration. Attempts to recall the blast in particular are in vain. I just remember a secondary noise before my ears went dead. I cowered in fear as the noise washed over me, and then the mad rush of the gamma rays as they passed over my floored body. It’s a strange, rich euphoria that I can’t begin to explain.

I don’t understand why most of my senses are in tact. Vision. Hearing. Smell. But I still can’t move… the frustration begin to brim. My heart began to race and I heard the heart-monitor pick up in pace and tone. The blips became closer and closer together, until they moulded into one solitary scream. My body began to revolt against me. My skin seemed to rip… my internals wrenched themselves together, until all of the pain seemed to cancel itself out. It felt almost poetic, and I simply closed my eyes to embrace it.

And it stopped, and my heartbeat went through the roof. And I could move. Boy could I move. I moved off the bed, positioning myself in front of the mirror. I could hear my own breath over the machine now, heavy and husky. And then I noticed… I was out of the bed but my clothes were behind me. And I was… green.

I turned around, moving towards the door. I attempted to twist the door knob, but my fingers were hardly brimming with dexterity. Instead, I tugged. Not hard, more out of frustration than anything, and the door flew off its hinges. I ran out of the open frame, turning to my left and charging towards the wall. I lowered my shoulder, colliding with the wall. The bricks yielded to me, and I was out in the night. My muscular physique seemed to shield me from the cold, and I ran for my life. The last thing I remembered was turning back just in earshot of the nurses leaning out of the me-shaped hole in the wall.

“What the hell is that?!”

“It’s some sort of… hulk!”

Hulk.

Hmm...I'm hesitant because you haven't really changed the character that much. The point of this RPG is to create an alternate Universe.

I did plan to change his history, personality and perona of the character, only keep the origins the same. If that's a problem, don't worry, I'll think of some kind of alternate continuity for the Hulk .

I know I don't normally ask, but...what are your thoughts on my Electro so far? For some reason I'm kind of on the fence about him.

I'm really digging him so far. It's not often a character like Electro gets the 'serious character' treatment, so it's a real joy to read. I say stick with him!
