'RISE OF MARVELS' RPG Application
Screenname: Eddie Brock Jr.
Character You Would Like To Play: Johnny Storm, The Human Torch
Powers: Pyrokinesis, flight.
Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): Johnny Storm is a renowned male model/actor. Even though he's only eighteen, he has single-handedly achieved more fame than some people twice his age. He's a teenage heartthrob with an attitude and an ego bigger than his bodyguard, Benjamin Grimm.
Johnny's father is a wealthy philanthropist who invested in Stark Industries from the very beginning. Franklin Storm is the father of two children. In addition to Johnny, he also has an older daughter, Susan - who is romantically linked to Reed Richards, one of the brightest scientific minds of the century and concurrently Sue's high school sweetheart.
A severe accident during one of Reed's experiments leads to Johnny - and the others - gaining amazing powers.
Pre-Mutant, Post-Mutant, Or Other? (Beings unpowered or of cosmic origin): Post-Mutant
Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:
1. I can write Johnny, and I genuine enjoy NPCing the whole Fantastic Four. Of the four, however, I have the easiest time writing for Torch.
2. In other continuities, Johnny's fame is the result of his powers or Sue's relationship with Reed. I have effectively changed that. Johnny is a celebrity in his own right - long before he puts on the tights.
3. I just know, in the back of my mind, that if I don't establish the Fantastic Four, they are going to fade away.
What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Truthfully, Johnny's personality is not going to be much different. I have, however, changed how he's related to each of his teammates. Ben is more connected to Johnny than Reed, and Sue isn't a scientist. Additionally, Johnny is a spoiled rich kid - thus explaining his attitude.
Two Complete Sentences In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I can bring a playful, light-hearted atmosphere to the Fantastic Four - which I can write much better than the political angst of Captain America. The bottom line is that Johnny is easier to write, which - while it is less rewarding personally - will help me be more active.
What Fonts Do You Plan To Use For Your Character’s Speech? (Makes the roster look better): Navy Blue Comic Sans MS
Please Provide A Small Sample Post In The Format You Wish To Portray Your Character In:
"Oh my God! It's Johnny Storm!"
I smirk as I put down my fork. I rather enjoy such a reaction - even if it does come in the way of my dinner. I think there's a part of me that goes out
just so that people can fawn over me. It's such a power trip having people scream your name. I can't picture anything else giving you such a rush.
The young blond girl comes to my table, and she's literally shaking. Her redhead friend is too sheepish to approach me directly. However, the other girl doesn't seem to be hindered.
"Oh my God! Oh my God!" she repeats excitedly. I sit quietly and wait for her to say something else.
"I love you so much!"
"Please, you're too kind," I reply arbitrarily.
She looks like she's literally going to explode with excitement.
"You don't understand!" she insists.
"I love you! Would you--"
Before she can finish her request, I'm already handing her an autographed napkin. When you get approached by enough admirers, you begin to predict their next move.
"Thank you! Thank you so much! Oh my God!"
I hand her another one with a nod to her redheaded friend.
"That's for her," I explain.
"Tell her that I said that I like her dress."
