The "Rise Of Marvels" RPG, Year One: Sign-Up/OOC Thread

Character You Would Like To Play: Norman Osborn The Green Goblin

Powers: Norman Osborn possesses superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes. His durability conventional weapons can't pierce his skin. He also has the ability to create balls of fire that he throws at his enemy's.

But more impressive than his powers is his arsenal. His glider is capable of going speeds of 150 miles an hour. The sides of the glider are sharp enough to cut through the strongest of metals. It has retractable machine guns on either side and can launch small missiles. It also has many other features and weapons, but there are too many to discuses.

His suit is made of a new skin tight armor that is hard enough to take blast from some of of the strongest weapons but light and flexible enough to maneuver in the most dangerous situations. His gloves, when activated, can deliver an electric shock up to 1,000 volts. The final piece is a utility belt that holds tools and devices that he can use when needed.


Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): Norman Osborn has spent years building up his company Os Corp. It is now one of the leading factors in scientific research and weapons technology. For years his company has been making deals with the military. Supplying them with new weapons. His newest contract was going to put his company on the map for good. But in the moment of truth the military signed a deal with Stark Ind. instead. Stock plummets and all that he has worked so hard for is about to slip out from under his finger tips. In an act of desperation he does a human trial of an experimental serum, on himself. This is where our story begins.

Pre-Mutant, Post-Mutant, Or Other? (Beings unpowered or of cosmic origin):

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:
1. Well they say third time is the charm.
2. He's a villain everyone could tangle with.
3. Winning back my pride.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Well he's still going to be insane. But I'm going to make it more of a dual personality thing. Also, I'm going to have him have a grudge against Tony Stark. So it'll give an interesting twist to a familiar story.

"General Ross, it's good to hear from you," Osborn said as he talked into the speaker phone, "Hows the wife and kid?"

Osborn gives a thumbs up to his board of directors. "They're fine Osborn. Now lets get down to business shall we."

"Of course," he says with a grin, "Now I say we start negotiating price. How abou..."

"Listen Osborn," he interrupts, "I'm not signing. In fact I've already signed with Stark."

There is a pause. Osborn sways a bit, sweat drips down his cheek. It's all he can do to suppress his anger. "Wha... What? This is such a surprise, I... I mean you've signed with us for.."

"For far to long Osborn. And this shouldn't be that much of a surprise. Unless your precious board didn't tell you."

Osborn looks at his board members in total shock. "Besides," Ross begins, "The best thing you had to offer us was a super soldier serum that hasn't even had human trials. So good day Osborn." And with that he hung up. Silence is the only thing in the room. Osborn stares at his board members with disgust. They do not return his gaze.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!!" Screams Osborn as he rips the phone from the wall. He then slams it on the ground, shattering it into hundreds of pieces.

"Osborn, calm down!" A male member shouts.

"Shut the hell up Jim!" Jim sits down almost immediately. "How long have you all known!?" They all stare at the table. "HOW LONG!?"

"A week." There is another short pause. Osborn wipes his forehead, collecting himself. "Were moving up to human trials."

"Osborn, we're shutting the whole project down."

"What?"

"The board is unanimous."

"No... No, you... you can't do this to me..... I built this company!!!! Do you have any idea how much I had to sacrifice!?"

"This meting is adjourned." And with that he storms out. Slamming the door behind him.

FYI, Jinn...I made mention of Osborn in Max's origin. He hired Max and his company to work on a project of OsCorp (an energy generator) that litterally ended up blowing up in Max's face. :o

Character You Would Like To Play: David North, aka Agent Zero, aka Maverick

Powers: Ability to absorb energy and release it in the form of heat blasts or force blasts. Healing Factor. No discernible scent. Anti-healing factor corrosive (In other words, if he's fighting a mutant with a healing factor, the harder that mutant's body tries to heal itself the worse it gets.)
Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): David North was both born possessing the X-Gene. In his teens, David and his childhood friend John Allerdyce both discovered their latent mutant abilities on a day that changed their lives forever.

While trespassing in their high scool's kitchen, John's pyrokinetic abilities revealed themselves when he attempted to light a match. Unable to control his newfound ability, John caused the spark from the match to grow to a massive size, which in turn caused an explosion stemming from the gas ovens. The explosion itself would easily have killed the two boys, but at that very same moment in time David's ability to absorb energy revealed itself. Absorbing every last bit of the force from the bomb, David's young body unfortunately could not handle the strain. Involuntarily redirecting the blast outwards, the concussion flew from David's body and in to the cafeteria, killing over 100 students.

Both David and John were kidnapped by the mysterious Weapon X program and trained rigorously to become flawless killing machines. Granted a healing factor that allowed him to heal almost instantaneously from any wound, as well as given enough training to master his powers, David was separated from his friend. Becoming a master marksman and an extremely competent hand-to-hand fighter, David partook in many highly secretive missions with other mutants.

And also, although it would probably be obvious, once Agent Zero gets put on the Character List he'd be at home under Walking the Line.
