This is exactly the type of reaction a 2nd reboot of a character needed. This is going to make great bank, happy to see Spidey back even if it's for the 5 films the MCU has him, if only Sony's shadow on this going forward could make me feel less dread lol.

The Sony shadow is the only issue now. Spidey has had such a good intro to the MCU with CW and Homecoming.

It's pretty remarkable. I honestly didn't see this potentially landing in the 90s...I was thinking more or less around 80-85. Makes me proud to be a Spidey fan in the cinema again.

Yeah, as soon as I saw people hating on HC just because they're putting Spider-Man 2 on a pedestal, I knew this won't be able to hold that 90+ score.
Which I don't get, why would anyone even see the movie if they closed their mind to the possibility of a better movie that that one?
It's ok to compare them, but this is not a competition. At least not for the fans.
I didn't see the movie yet, but even if I don't find it better or as good as the second Raimi film, I still wouldn't insult anyone who does.

After a few of those negative reviews its average dropped down to 7.5 was at 7.6 for a while. WW is at a 7.5 logan 7.9 and GOTG 2 7.1 in comparison to Spider-Man current 7.5 right now is how the other 3 CBM have done this year.

My guess? It'll end up with an 86-88% with a 7.3 average.
There's still over a hundred reviews to go, so I don't see it maintaining it's current position (both in terms of percentage and the average) when all the reviews are accounted for.

Well, there's 16 positives Rotten Tomatoes hasn't yet added in to the movie's page that could keep it in the 90's.
