I'd estimate, through the power of pulling numbers from buttocks, 1/3 chance of staying over 90 %.

Now that 100 Reviews are in, I thought I'd compare to where the previous MCU and Spider-Man movies were after 100 reviews (and where they ended up):

MCU:

Spider-Man:

Take out TASM2 and the average drop would be only -1.02%

What the colors mean:

So on average the movies only drop 1% after the first 100 reviews are in, and only two movies dropped more than 6%(Thor and TASM2), and both of those were released OS about a week before the domestic release, unlike SM: H.

They don't drop much on average, especially the ones released OS and DOM at the same time, like SM: H. Out of those, only TASM dropped more than 2.5%.
If SM: H can also drop less than 2.5% it will stay in the 90+ range. So here's hoping. MCU and Spider-Man's RT history is on it's side.

So with being at 100 reviews now and being at 92 I think at worst we are looking at a 82 but that is unlikely and at best I think we are looking at like a 93. Most likely I think between 86-92.

Interesting Amazing Spider-Man 2 dropped 11 from 63 to 52 and really I thought it would have been even more lol. I know amazing Spider-Man 2 didn't start of that bad. I think after 80 reviews it was at like a 75 or something before it really started going down.

Spider-Man went from a 86 up to a 89
Spider-Man 2 went from 95 and dropped to a 94.
Spider-Man 3 was a 63 and stayed at a 63.
Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man went from a 78 down to a 72.
So out of the 5 Spider-Man movies before this 1 stayed the same, 3 went
down and 1 went up slightly.

If this movie drops like amazing Spider-Man 2 we would end at a 81. If like Spider-Man it would be at a 95. Spider-Man 2 it would be a 91. If like Spider-Man 3 it would be 92, if like amazing Spider-Man it would be at a 86.

The reason TASM2 and Thor dropped so much was because US critics were a lot harsher on them than OS critics, and because they were released OS first most of the first 100 reviews were OS critics.

Homecoming won't face that problem(because it's released OS and domestically at the same time) so it really shouldn't drop that much. Statistically speaking the most likely final score right now would be 91%.

1 more positive came in. 96 now.

Back up to 92% :woot:

7.6/10

109 total reviews

100 fresh reviews
9 rotten

If it stays in the 90's that will be fantastic. We're up to 109 reviews so I am hopeful.

And average 7.6! That number is holding up.

I hope it's as good as everyone says. The reviews have me very excited. Especially for Keaton.

Keaton's glorious return to superhero movies is almost as sweet as Spider-man's return to cinematic greatness. :woot:

TBH everyone, really thought this might be the dud everyone is waiting for Marvel to produce. Not sure why I thought this, probably the fact of Sony being involved (didn't know the extent at the time). Glad to know we will probably have to wait longer for that dud.

It seems like Marvel Studios worked out all the kinks in their creative process since Thor 2 and are becoming unstoppable, dominating Hollywood.

They're basically a movie studio version of Ultron. :funny:

Agreed. Now that Perlmutter's gone, Marvel Studios is unstoppable.

There is not one movie coming up from Marvel that I'm not excited about. Awesome times. (Not counting the IMAX showing of Inhumans as that looks like #$/^/&)

I was preparing myself for it to be a dud.

I really thought it was going to be "the one"

It would totally make sense if Homecoming was the one to break the streak. There is a lot stacked up against it and everyone, critics, fans, and casual movie-goers alike, know it. That's why I like how I've seen multiple reviews preface their praise with "against all odds".

Guardians was supposed to be their first dud. Then Ant-man. Then Doctor Strange.

They will have one eventually but nothing on their film schedule would indicate it.
