yeah his titans run doesn't look inspiring. should've stayed at marvel but i guess JOe Q passed over him when the book needed a writer.

Geoff Johns and Adam Beechen ****ed Teen Titans up pretty bad with a crappy roster and really terrible stories, including a subplot about Robin and Wonder Girl developing feelings for each other after Superboy--Robin's best friend and Wonder Girl's boyfriend--died. McKeever just started and took some good steps toward improving the roster--he added Blue Beetle and a surprisingly tolerable Supergirl--but solicitations indicate that he'll be continuing with the same crappy subplots Beechen and Johns set up. Granted, I'm sure he'll wrap it in a nicer package than Beechen could ever hope to be capable of writing, but crap in a gold box is still crap.

I have nothing against Chase getting new Fistigons. He's usually not been much in a fight for a while.

It is interesting to note how the Whedon & Ryan run is ending about 3-5 months behind schedule. But that keeps the Moore/Ramos run at bay.

Shame DC nabbed McKeever.

The Staff of One can cast ANY spell. That includes spells Dormammu, Umar, and the Vishanti can cast as well. And so far, we don't see it actually fail on anybody. It seems to work no matter what so far.

That means, she could probably exterminate Dormammu with the right spell, with little problem.

The Staff of One can't revive the dead. Runaways #2, Volume 2: Nico said she couldn't revive future Gert because she already tried to use the spell for Alex and failed. Even the Staff of One has limits.

For ressurection, magic isn't as easy said and done (pun!). She might have used the spell incorrectly, because we don't know why certain words that are related to the spell happens. It may be influenced by it's user directly. I.e.: When she used "Chill out!" it simply snowed, where it could have easily frozen them to death, or dump ice water on them, or switch them into ice, or teleport them somewhere cold. She might have tried to revive his dead body, rather than him himself, and simply has been afraid to try it again, as we've seen her doubt herself from time to time. And considering it's Alex, and she really messed it up, she might not want to try it on another friend.

Maybe it's also the intent of the wielder. It could explain why the same spell can't work twice.

Though, Alex did use one spell twice (the power dampening chains on Karoline and her parents) and spells can be casted again, but with different wielders. Both Chase and Nico used a "sleep" spell on Nico and Spider-Man respectively.

She might have tried to revive his dead body, rather than him himself, and simply has been afraid to try it again, as we've seen her doubt herself from time to time. And considering it's Alex, and she really messed it up, she might not want to try it on another friend.

Still, the spell ultimately failed to revive Alex, be it Nico's state of mind or it being beyond the staff's power to do so.

Indeed. He was able to use a spell twice. Based on his capabilities, he could've studied up on the powers and capabilities of each Pride member after he found them out.

Understandable. But we can't necessarily apply this reason to other spells and why they can't be used twice.

However, we can probably discern them from a resurrection spell, as you pointed out earlier.

Though, the staff pulled of a time-travel spell. Powerful.
