Didn't they do this before?
Because airing one episode focusing on Edna over another episode focused on the same character = not classy?

It could be argued that Bart the Lover is more about Bart than Edna. After all, in both episodes, she is merely a plot device for another character's growth. I'd say if anything, the episode about Edna and Seymour is probably the closest thing to an Edna-centric plot. She was never a main character on any episode, to my knowledge.
True Bart the Lover is more about Bart but its the first episode where Edna's not just Bart's teacher. She developed into a character before that episode she was just like Lisa's teacher. I mean I think what's bugging me is that they said they would air Bart the Lover and then didn't.
Chalkboard gag:
"We'll really miss you, Mrs. K".

I can't remember any episodes that heavily focused on her. Edna was always more prominent being Bart's teacher. Lisa was never the problem child or student so there was less to work with there.Did Ms Hoover ever have any centric episodes or despite hundreds of episodes did she somehow remain a background character?
