Quantumania The Spoiler thread

theoretically speaking (an I get why it wasn't done or used)

but, in theory couldn't Ant-man (or anyone else with a suit) had just resized back to normal to leave the quantum realm?

I get they didn't all have the suits, so doing this would have meant leaving them behind, and upon growing back to normal size probably would have destroyed/killed everything/everyone else down there

but, Just saying... would that have theoretically worked?

for that matter (assuming that could have worked) why couldn't have Kang just stole one of their suits to resize himself back to normal (even-though, that would have meant leaning his power-core behind)

also side note: how does time work down there ? shouldn't they have returned to some distant future

Im going to say no because of the way they went in. They both went giant mode and that was already hard on their bodies.

Was anyone else kind of surprised that Cassie called Hank “Grandpa”? It was sweet, but wouldn’t have thought that their relationship would progress that fast that she would call him that already. All the relationship development must have occurred between Endgame and Ant-Man 3 which is probably a year?

EDIT: I should have read the previous page. I guess people had the same thoughts lol

Wasn't it established in the first Ant-Man that shrinking without wearing the suit would instantly kill you? It was also the reason why the Avengers all wore them in Endgame. Now here we are seeing everyone get sucked into the quantum realm and going subatomic without wearing any kind of protective gear at all and everyone's fine. Even Hank says something to the effect of "We should be dead". They acknowledge it, so that makes it fine?

I think it was more using the Pym particles required the protective suit, or vehicle in the previous movie. Now if they were sucked into the Quantum Realm by a different supernatural process then while there the Pym particles still worked to shrink and grow relative to their current status

It depends. In some families and cultures the honorarium would apply as soon as Scott and Hope were a public couple. It doesn't necessarily match with the van Dyne's retaining that name in most cases though.

Eric Voss may be onto something here... and it's kinda blowing my mind. I don't think this movie ended the way we think it did.

it seems almost too subtle to have been done on purpose

it gives the audience way to much credit to pick up on such tiny details

until anything more official suggests other wise I'll just caulk that up to poor editing and coincidentally wardrobe choices for the extras

I heard the original ending involved Scott and Hope being trapped in the quantum realm. They obviously reshot it

So they can now open a portal to easily transport things back and forth from the quantum realm. It will be a convenient plot device going forward whichever movie needs it.

one thing I was a bit dissapointed was, that his fortress wasnt Chronopolis with different areas from different time epoches . But maybe this will be in Battleworld or something else

They kind of couldn't do that, not with the premise of "Kang is trapped in a place outside the normal operations of time".

Consider that Hank was also actively indulging her interests in both superheroing and 'sticking it to the Man'. It may be unusually quick for her to treat him like a grandparent, but I think its implicitly supported by the movie- he's acting like a gramps to her, and a "fun" one at that.
