Quantumania The Spoiler thread

I thought this Kang was supposed to be the main Kang though? I'm not sure the Marvel heroes fighting an army of Kang's is gonna go over well
Kang The Conqueror is the most known and used in media/tv from what I remember growing up. I have no clue about the Egyptian one and the old looking one who seem to look the same. The iron suit looking one didn't look good either. The Victor Timely one is the only one I thought looked non bad cosplay like. I don't think it will go over well because they are asking the audience to remember and care about 6 different versions of Kang counting He Who Remains. I want more of the Conqueror the others besides Timely didn't grab me.

Yes Kang was suppose to be the best or the one worth exiling I think he is the original too. The others are copies based on him traveling. His threat level took a hit in this as Scott is a mere human his tech is not on the level of other heroes, he also lost to ants in a loophole about them getting significantly smarter.

I was definitely surprised by the ending. I felt confident that this was THE Kang, but I guess not, since this Kang is now dead. Is that right?

The more I think about it, the more I think there's no way he's dead. Maybe he just got sucked into a different dimension. They really can't be that dumb to kill KANG THE CONQUERER in an Antman movie, can they?

Yes having Scott trapped in the Quantum realm again would have been repetitive
I was rolling my eyes at the prospect of Scott being trapped in there again, although with Hope this time, before Cassie opened the portal which made me roll my eyes again.

I think they should have scrapped the quantum people, Bill Murray’s character and MoDok they could have focused more on like the heist of getting the multiversal thing for Kang, and focus on Making Kang seem like A good guy through Scott and Kassie and then have Kang betray them both leading to a big showdown with Kang at the end

I was expecting a similar thing to Loki when He Who Remains died but Loki comes back and sees things changed. I wanted to see some Kang statue or something to see the timeline has been tweaked.

So, was I the only one who stayed only for the FIRST post credit scene?I figure that I can see the other one when Loki Season Two starts.

Wasn't it established in the first Ant-Man that shrinking without wearing the suit would instantly kill you? It was also the reason why the Avengers all wore them in Endgame. Now here we are seeing everyone get sucked into the quantum realm and going subatomic without wearing any kind of protective gear at all and everyone's fine. Even Hank says something to the effect of "We should be dead". They acknowledge it, so that makes it fine?

Janet and Kang weren't even suited up in flashbacks, so it wasn't like some new thing Kang changed. Haha

But they were protected when they entered the Quantum Realm. Doesn't mean they needed a suit when they were down there.

I think Pym probably theorized that going subatomic would cause Asphyxia. Being that small and not being able to breath in oxygen would make sense. Maybe he was wrong and that's why he was stumped that they should be dead?

The only other explanation would be Kang altering something so they could do this.

It feels kind of weird having the main over arcing villain of your entire next phase leading up to the Avengers ensemble flick get taken out in an Antman movie that has supposedly started the new phase here. I kind of wish that we only got a tease of Kang the Conquerer in this film much like we got several teases of Thanos leading up into his big debut as the big main baddie. That payoff was worth the wait. Now we got a horde of Kang variants lurking.

Ending would've worked better if they killed off Scott imo. You can't give him that great line "I don't have to win, we both just have to lose" and bail him out. Have some balls ffs.

Other than that, probably the most consistently 'charming' trilogy in the MCU and I preferred the smaller scope of the first two. A solid 7.5 for me. Majors is incredible as Kang.

I don’t think the Kang from this film is dead.

I reckon he’s going to turn in to the MCU version of The Beyonder and come back in Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars.

The council of Kangs was amazing to see on screen but it could be very hard to pull off on screen in a feature film. Great villains work when you give them lots of screen time and strong motivations. Like Kang in this film was great, you felt his presence and why he’s such a threat. Getting an audience to buy in to 6/7/8 different versions of the same villain could be difficult.

Intrigued to see what the plot of Kang Dynasty is and whether the Young Avengers play a part.

It would be disappointing, if we don’t see that variant of Kang fight the Avengers (in that costume).

btw let’s hope MODOK is dead, because otherwise he will tell everyone Scott declared him to an Avenger

I think MODOK, oh sorry, I mean Darren, is definitely dead. His heart monitor was flat-lined.

I'm still on the fact that they didn't build Kang up to the threat that he is supposed to be.

I mean, I understand that the pandemic screwed a lot of things up but they dropped the ball in certain creative aspects for this character to be an Avengers level threat. If I were Feige, I would have had Kang and/or his variants showing up in all the Phase 4 stingers. Have him wipe out people in the Sonyverse timelines during a stinger for NWH, have him in the stinger for MoM wreaking havoc across the timelines while Strange and Scarlet Witch are doing their thing, just have him causing more chaos in the background to bring him into this movie for him to explain WHY he is doing the things that he has done.

It's just this movie is telling us more than they are showing. Feige made a misstep here somewhere.

I give them props however for having Rama Tut. Love seeing black actors playing Ancient Egyptians in Hollywood productions, but I digress. Majors/Kang deserves to be feared a lot more.

They started out strong enough with Kang torturing Scott and Cassie without even touching them but something got lost down the line and he ended up getting defeated by M.O.D.O.K, a bunch of ants, and Paul Rudd in a fist fight.

Even though I was disappointed with how this Kang was defeated and how he wasn't Kang Prime (at least I don't think he was but he definitely isn't dead given Marvel rules), I'm still really excited to see more from Majors and all the Kang variants.

Your idea about Kang showing up in more Phase 4 stingers is what should have happened, with NWH and MoM making the most sense.

I thought Kang was a terrifying threat and the thing is, there's so many of them on top of that. Ultimately, I can't imagine Kang will directly fight the Avengers the way Thanos ended up doing because there isn't a way for them to win.

Needed more of that opening 2nd act with Janet & Kang flashback. What did Kang do after Janet ran? How did he build that empire and tech when he was struggling to repaid the core? How did he take the Quantum people's home?

And I have no problems with that. The first time I ever saw a picture of MODOK, I laughed hard. Never read a comic with him. But I watched the Disney+ animated show and played the Avengers game. That character simply cannot be done in a serious way. He got treated EXACTLY the way he needs to be treated.

100% agree with this

I don't think Kang is dead. The Kang Dynasty is going to focus on the Avengers fighting the Council of Kangs. But by the end of the movie, our main Kang will return somehow (and maybe with some type of power boost after getting sucked into that multiverse power core). He will take out both the Avengers and the Council which will lead him to creating Battleworld and he is going to be the main threat of Secret Wars.

Found it interesting Cassie referred to Hank as Grandpa Pym. Makes me wonder if Scott and Hope maybe married off screen? It was never mentioned but it isn't hard to buy either.

That all seemed a little rushed to me. I mean, how much time has Cassie really had to get to know them on that level since the Pyms were dusted shortly after Scott and Hope started seriously dating? A year or two tops?

Roughly a year and a half. But tbf, I could see Hank telling her to call him that based on how interested she was in science. He propably saw her as a new potential protege.
