Well you can't sink to a much lower television network than the CW which is really at the bottom of the barrel sans local channels. So whatever channel they move to has just about got to be an upgrade.

- The WWE Divas edition of Project Runaway that aired on Bravo on Wednesday drew a whopping 3.0 cable rating, which I'm guessing is their highest rated show. The women seem to be pulling in all the ratings lately.

- Several major news outlets have picked up on Smackdown's departure from the CW Network, including the Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly and the E! Network, as well as online sources and trade journals. This is big news folks.

I missed the Project Runway episode with the divas. Luckily it comes on again later today in a few hours :oldrazz:

But eh, can't say ratings were due to the divas, could have been though.

Weird. It doesn't seem too newsworthy to me...maybe 'cause I don't know that much about the inner workings of the tv biz, so it doesn't seem too difficult for them to find another network for SD from my perspective. But I guess there's more to it than that.

How about Friday Night Smackdown live on USA Network? Vince could make it happen. Picture quality and ratings would both increase.

Y'know, the one thing that always bugged the hell out of me was the picture quality on the CW. Hopefully the network they move it to will have better quality, but if they move to Sci-Fi (dunno why they would) it would just be more of the same.

Actually, there is MyNetworkTV. Easily lower than CW.

Anyone have Homicide's "The Truth" theme with the Kill Bill intro?

Working on getting it up on Mediafire now. Give me a few.

-- Ring of Honor pay-per-views were recently pulled from airing in Canada because buys were practically non-existant. One of the major cable carriers only had three dozen (36) PPV buys for a recent show. In comparison, TNA has had as low as a few hundred PPV buys for their most recent shows. WWE and UFC are pretty much the only companies to do any PPV business in Canada these days.

-- David Heath a.k.a. Gangrel, 38, has been telling people that he's retiring this year. He made his wrestling debut in 1988. He's now working the adult entertainment business as a movie director.

-- After the two-hour premiere of the "The Bussey Bunch" garnered a 0.26 cable rating, TLC canceled the show scheduled for January 29 without letting anyone know and axed the series all together. They said since 70% of TLC's audience is female, a wrestling reality show didn't fit on their station.

-- There has been official confirmation that Al Snow has been fully released from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. Snow finished up the remainder of his duties with OVW that night after the announcement was made that the WWE was dropping OVW as their long standing developmental territory and is now done with the company.

If anyone is looking to book the former Tough Enough trainer and WWE Hardcore Champion on their shows, they can do so by e-mailing Dave Herro at [email protected]

-- As of this weekend, TNA has sold between 1,500 and 2,000 tickets for tomorrow's Against All Odds pay-per-view at the BI-LO Center in Greenville, South Carolina. The building holds at least 11,000 people for wrestling. Due to sluggish ticket sales, TNA has begun papering the event, in other words, giving away tickets for free. They are even giving away the pricier ringside tickets that cost $150 as some of the Bi-Lo Center contacts have been offered them. Although, it seems like not too many of their contacts have taken up the offer as second row seating is still available for purchase at TicketMaster.com. Also, TicketMaster is apparently having a complimentary ticket offer for the show as one person was planning on buying tickets, but came away with three complimentary tickets and didn't pay a penny.

-- Kurt Angle and Jeremy Borash shot an episode of Criss Angel's "Mindfreaks" show for A & E last Saturday before all three headed to the UFC pay-per-view later that night.

-- Zach Gowen Talks About Johnny Ace Signing The Wrong One Legged Wrestler To A WWE Contract

Sent In By James Guttman of WorldWrestlingInsanity.com

He's one of the industry's most amazing performers and capable of dazzling audiences worldwide. Now, the man who helped Hulk Hogan fight off Roddy Piper as Mr. America, Zach Gowen, joins ClubWWI.com to talk about his unique career.

Many people know Zach for his ability to put on breathtaking moves in the ring despite losing his leg to cancer at age eight. Now Gowen speaks to James Guttman on ClubWWI.com about all aspects of his career including the fabricated story of meeting Hulk Hogan through the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the real first time he met Hogan, why Hulk was naked at the time, the wrestler who helped guide him backstage, why he had so much heat, teaming with Stephanie McMahon, the person who thought up "Tenacious Z," the part of the Brock Lesnar beat down he didn't warn his mom about, Roddy Piper, TNA, and more.

One big story that indirectly involves Zach is the famous tale of John "Johnny Ace" Laurinaitis signing the wrong one-legged wrestler to a WWE contract. Ripe for parody, this story is something that JG had wanted to ask Gowen about since it happened. During this week's 31 minute uncut Club shoot, he did. Zach answered:

"I guess the story is that, from what I hear - please don't take this as Gospel because I've never heard from either of these two gentlemen - but, I guess Jim Ross heard about me and told Johnny Ace to sign the one legged wrestler. So Johnny Ace called Steve Keirn, who ran a school down in Florida and Steve Keirn said, "Yeah I've got a one legged wrestler here." So they signed that guy. Steve Chamberland…thinking he was me. I think they signed him when I was actually on TNA on a live pay-per-view. So he goes back to the office and Johnny Ace goes, "Yo. I signed the one legged guy." But I was actually on TV at the time. How he got the wrong one legged guy, I'm not sure because that guy's like 6'3, 275."

Gowen continues on about the differences between him and Chamberland, as well as the unique situation that presents itself being a wrestler with one leg. He speaks about the reception from fellow performers and whether he had to deal with someone who wouldn't sell for him, plus much more.

Zach Gowen is just one of over 100 stars you can hear from as soon as you sign up on ClubWWI.com. Other stars include Dan Severn, Charlie Haas, Tom Prichard, Bobby Heenan, Paul Bearer, Tito Santana, Jacques Rougeau, Tammy Sytch, Too Cold Scorpio, Kevin Nash, Ole Anderson, John Heidenreich, Jimmy Hart, Jimmy Valiant, Iron Sheik, Bad News Brown, Jerry Lawler, Vince Russo, Eric Bischoff, Tod Gordon, Nick Bockwinkel, Dory Funk Jr, Diamond Dallas Page, Rob Conway, Sylvain Grenier, Buff Bagwell, Christian Cage, Jazz, Demolition Ax and Smash, Sid Vicious, Koko B. Randy Orton is Snake Eyes.
FTW

And, thanks for the name change Hunter :yay:

Yeah, and UFC fights. Get there about 30-40 mins early and eat chicken while the show is on
I'll have to try that.

I haven't been to the ones around here yet but I went to one in Houston and it was delicious. He always talks about how crazy the "Blazin' Sauce" is, which I have yet to experience.

Well, if I don't have to pay more the $15 to see at my friends, I'm not worried about the price hike. I'm not surprised, either. Probably a start in a price hike for all PPVs.

I thoroughly enjoy LAX...especially with Shelly there now..."the things I would eat out of her *****"

So what is the nizzle on wrestling? I haven't watched for a while. Is Brock back or something? If Smackdown is shutdown, does that mean all those wrestlers are now on RAW?

Lesnar is in UFC..for now...he lost his debut match....Smackdown will still be on the air untill this spring...

Smackdown will land somewhere soon, probably will be an announcement before they leave CW in the spring....what is CW going to air in its place??
