I read Reaper was on the chopping block....wouldnt surprise me tho....its good, but it didnt seem like it had any legs
Ring of Honor pay-per-views were recently pulled from airing in Canada because buys were practically non-existent. One of the major cable carriers only had three dozen (36) PPV buys for a recent show. In comparison, TNA has had as low as a few hundred PPV buys for their most recent shows. WWE and UFC are pretty much the only companies to do any PPV business in Canada these days.
TNA is burying their x division...they have made AJ styles into a clown...the best thing they have going is their womens' division
You know, one thing about TNA is this:
They may not put on the best TV but many of their PPVs are top notch. There's at least a few standout matches from any TNA PPV, even the poorer ones. WWE PPVs are can pretty much be hit or miss.
I'm not a TNA fanboy or anything, by the way. But lately I've just been fairly disappointed in what the WWE is doing right now.
Their booking is questionable, no doubt about that. But the matches that those guys put on are amazing.
Did you ever see Samoa Joe's shoot at Turning Point when Scott Hall no-showed? It sums up a lot of the problems in TNA and is pretty much amazing.
Huh? You could say the same thing about WWE's PPVs; sometimes most of the matches are a miss, but one or two are great. WWE's last four though in my opinion were all at least pretty good.
I think that whole Samoa Joe thing was a stunt by TNA and even if it wasnt, its not like it changed anything anyway....they are still doing stupid s**t...they did a rat on a pole match this week.....are you kidding me? Rat on a pole
About Joe's shoot tho, whether it was a shoot or a work, it really was spot on. I didn't watch the PPV, but did hear about it, and after watching it on Youtube, Joe really hit on what a lot of us think TNA has been screwing up lately. Namely letting guys who no show and just stand around "padding their pension" as Joe put it walk on the hard workers that were the guys TNA built their show on in the first place. What Hall did in WCW and WWF was great, but it doesn't mean he should get top billing when he hasn't done anything for TNA itself. The way they bury the young stars who could be big to push guys who have 5 years left in the ring at most just seems ass backwards to me, Nash isn't going to be around forever in the ring, heck he injures himself walking to the ring. They should be using him to give credibility to the guys who will be the future of the buisness IMO.
Anyway here's Joe's shoot for anyone that missed it.

The shoot was fantastic. And although I am a huge fan of Nash, I don't really think he needs an active wrestling role at this point. He's a hilarious guy, and I think he should stick the backstage segments and show up in the ring every now and then. The PCS Tournament? Gold.
Agreed, I don't have anything against Nash either. Some of his segments are hilarious, and he can be gold on the mic when he wants to. I don't mind his come back matches as much, Hall's where I have the problem. Then there are guys like Angle, who while I marked out for him going to TNA at first, pretty much become spotlight hogs and bury all the younger wrestlers while getting there. Angle's a belt hog like Jarrett was, but atleast Jeff had a hand in building TNA.
True, but at least for me, the good never seems to outweigh the bad for WWE PPVs. And their PPVs alway seem to riddled with DQ endings. I don't know, I never really feel truly impressed with WWE's PPVs but TNA's always seem to catch me off guard. A lot of this is just me, I guess.
However, one that blew me away. I can't remember when it was or what PPV, but it was on the one where Mercury broke his nose...Ladder match with the Hardys, Londrick, MNM, and I think someone else. Breathtaking match.
As for Nash, the guy is one of the smartest ever in the business, he had a good look, being the only giant to not look like a monster or freak, he is a good looking dude and carried that massive frame with ease, he could also talk as good as anyone, beyond that he had no talent and leeched off bigger names to get into prime spots, using his charm and his savvy.
Will have to disagree. For the ones that I saw last year, most of the good outweighed the bad. From what I've read and seen, a lot of TNA PPVs are now riddled with shenanigans and nonsensical booking. But there are some good matches that manage to escape that mess, like the Women's Division.
The way i understand it is Joe was told to do the shoot but went further and longer with it than anyone anticipated. What did Russo do with the aftermath ?

To each his own I guess. I think for both brands there are certainly some PPVs that just plain suck, but a lot of time it's personal preference.
