I read Reaper was on the chopping block....wouldnt surprise me tho....its good, but it didnt seem like it had any legs

Ring of Honor pay-per-views were recently pulled from airing in Canada because buys were practically non-existent. One of the major cable carriers only had three dozen (36) PPV buys for a recent show. In comparison, TNA has had as low as a few hundred PPV buys for their most recent shows. WWE and UFC are pretty much the only companies to do any PPV business in Canada these days.

so I guess the support for ROH and TNA isnt as widspread as some people would like.....They dont air the ROH ppv's here in CT all that much...or if they do air its like at 1 or 3 in the morning

You know, one thing about TNA is this:

They may not put on the best TV but many of their PPVs are top notch. There's at least a few standout matches from any TNA PPV, even the poorer ones. WWE PPVs are can pretty much be hit or miss.

I'm not a TNA fanboy or anything, by the way. But lately I've just been fairly disappointed in what the WWE is doing right now.

TNA is burying their x division...they have made AJ styles into a clown...the best thing they have going is their womens' division

Their booking is questionable, no doubt about that. But the matches that those guys put on are amazing.

Did you ever see Samoa Joe's shoot at Turning Point when Scott Hall no-showed? It sums up a lot of the problems in TNA and is pretty much amazing.

Huh? You could say the same thing about WWE's PPVs; sometimes most of the matches are a miss, but one or two are great. WWE's last four though in my opinion were all at least pretty good.

I think that whole Samoa Joe thing was a stunt by TNA and even if it wasnt, its not like it changed anything anyway....they are still doing stupid s**t...they did a rat on a pole match this week.....are you kidding me? Rat on a pole

The problem with the X division for me is that most of the matches make no sense, unless Joe is in them they are "you do a move and then i'll do a move" matches. Aj Styles vs Daniels is a one for those that feel move set makes a wrestler, they go through EVERY move they have in their repertoire in those matches.

True, but at least for me, the good never seems to outweigh the bad for WWE PPVs. And their PPVs alway seem to riddled with DQ endings. I don't know, I never really feel truly impressed with WWE's PPVs but TNA's always seem to catch me off guard. A lot of this is just me, I guess.

However, one that blew me away. I can't remember when it was or what PPV, but it was on the one where Mercury broke his nose...Ladder match with the Hardys, Londrick, MNM, and I think someone else. Breathtaking match.

I can't justify that, or any of the crazy "REVERSE BATTLE ROYAL" junk. Blame Vince Russo...Haha, I don't know. Even if it was a stunt though, there was some truth behind it and it was delivered brilliantly.

As far as the X-Division matches not making sense...I think their always entertaining, I don't mind spotfests and that sort of thing. Cruiserweights have always been some of my favorites, especially back in WCW.

About Joe's shoot tho, whether it was a shoot or a work, it really was spot on. I didn't watch the PPV, but did hear about it, and after watching it on Youtube, Joe really hit on what a lot of us think TNA has been screwing up lately. Namely letting guys who no show and just stand around "padding their pension" as Joe put it walk on the hard workers that were the guys TNA built their show on in the first place. What Hall did in WCW and WWF was great, but it doesn't mean he should get top billing when he hasn't done anything for TNA itself. The way they bury the young stars who could be big to push guys who have 5 years left in the ring at most just seems ass backwards to me, Nash isn't going to be around forever in the ring, heck he injures himself walking to the ring. They should be using him to give credibility to the guys who will be the future of the buisness IMO.

Anyway here's Joe's shoot for anyone that missed it.

The shoot was fantastic. And although I am a huge fan of Nash, I don't really think he needs an active wrestling role at this point. He's a hilarious guy, and I think he should stick the backstage segments and show up in the ring every now and then. The PCS Tournament? Gold.

BTW, I'm probably being gulible on this, but I do believe it was a shoot and he was actually speaking his mind, then Russo pulled a Matt Hardy and turned it into a work. Aside from most reports saying that you could see Nash and Joe pushing eachother after the match, was also you can slightly hear Joe saying "I don't care, fire me" and that's Dixie Carter off screen he was saying it to. Plus you can see AJ mouthing "what a dick" or something like that, which is funny as you'd think AJ would be on his side, unless he was staying in character. Still tho, it was spot on, and loved Angle's reaction of, "You mean me?".

Also I do appreciate what others have done in the past for pro wrestling, above I didn't mean that I didn't. I think guys like Flair should be given credit. Just there are guys who take more credit than they should have, and show up to new promotions and go right over the heads of the guys who built that promotion up.

Agreed, I don't have anything against Nash either. Some of his segments are hilarious, and he can be gold on the mic when he wants to. I don't mind his come back matches as much, Hall's where I have the problem. Then there are guys like Angle, who while I marked out for him going to TNA at first, pretty much become spotlight hogs and bury all the younger wrestlers while getting there. Angle's a belt hog like Jarrett was, but atleast Jeff had a hand in building TNA.

I'm pretty sure it was legit and they were just staying in character, although taking it all in. Supposedly the Dixie Carter thing was from him going over the amount of time he was supposed to.

Couldn't agree more or say it better myself

Will have to disagree. For the ones that I saw last year, most of the good outweighed the bad. From what I've read and seen, a lot of TNA PPVs are now riddled with shenanigans and nonsensical booking. But there are some good matches that manage to escape that mess, like the Women's Division.

The way i understand it is Joe was told to do the shoot but went further and longer with it than anyone anticipated. What did Russo do with the aftermath ?

As for Nash, the guy is one of the smartest ever in the business, he had a good look, being the only giant to not look like a monster or freak, he is a good looking dude and carried that massive frame with ease, he could also talk as good as anyone, beyond that he had no talent and leeched off bigger names to get into prime spots, using his charm and his savvy.

True, but love him anyway.

It's so funny in this big shoot he did. He makes jokes about getting injured to keep from doing a job.

To each his own I guess. I think for both brands there are certainly some PPVs that just plain suck, but a lot of time it's personal preference.

I agree. Though I always liked his Jacknife.

True. I'm not saying WWE doesn't have any bad PPVs; I've skipped a few last year out of having no interest for what was on the card.

I thought them combining all the brands for all PPVs was kind of a bad movie. It is understandable for ECW, December to Dismember was just a horrible waste of PPV. I don't know, it seems like is lessened the emphasis on SD and make it seem even more like the "B-brand" than it already does.
