I do! For the post, even worse!

But I'm heading West on Tuesday for Comic Con.

Edit: Danny, that's the one I've been seeing ad nauseum all day!

Hah I have to go pick up a Fox packed on Tuesday. Early morning flight to the con wednesday. See ya there

I worked at the NY affiliate for Fox for 18 months after I graduated college. I still have nightmares about it.

The other spot I saw just had a lot of quick cuts - first new shot I noticed was of Wolverine collapsing after getting hit with all of the darts during the ninja fight.

They're not darts. That's such a great scenes. Shows the ninja aren't just dumb scratching posts

Between 2004-2009/10 ALL of Fox's blockbusters had a run-time of 80-100 mins, no more, so they could get more showings in the cinema a day. Both FF movies, both AVP movies, Eragon, Origins, X3 and many more all suffered due to having this short a run-time and a half-assed effort from Fox.

I noticed that.

But no one should forget Avatar! Thats like FOX's first three-hour movie since Titanic.

In most cases, a longer movie is better because it fleshes out the characters and the story.

Fantastic Four: Silver Surfer should have been wayyyyyy longer especially with that end of the world moment. The runtime of the film was atrocious! Less than 90 mins!

Movies are getting longer and longer. It's not going to slow down. It's safe to say that by 2020 three hour movies will be pretty standard again.

I have just ordered the following book.

http://www.amazon.com/Wolverine-Chris-Claremont/dp/0785137246

Can someone confirm if this contains the entire Japan arc?
And does the movie use the entire story as it is in this book?

Thanks.

It collects Wolverine #1-4 and Uncanny X-Men #172-173, so that's basically the whole story. The Wolverine mini stands well on it's own (and is usually collected on it's own) but the story continues into Uncanny X-Men. Silver Samurai and Viper only feature in Uncanny X-Men #172-173 so they must be using those issues to some degree but I think it's a pretty lose adaptation.

Potentially they might also have drawn from Wolverine #57, a Japan-set story in which [BLACKOUT]Wolverine is forced to mercy-kill Mariko after she is fatally poisoned.[/BLACKOUT]

It was ridiculous, sure it made them some money long-term, but people wouldnt turn up for the sequels as the first movies were so lackluster, as in FF2 and AVP2. Avatar was an exception as Cameron was directing, you dont tell him to make a movie 90 mins.

And FF2 should have been way, way longer. Hell Galactus and SS alone could easily fill up 2 hours. Frigging Tom Rothman, good riddance.

Has anyone seen the BFCA score? I think it's a place holder but I'm not sure. It's 70/100 as of now but without any critic reviews..

That's the thing, it hasn't been screened for major critics (that I know of) and 70/100 seems to be a universal place holder for movies. Either that, or it starts at 70 and either goes up or down but someone on here definitely knows more about it than me.

I hate waiting for reviews. Man these next two weeks will be super slow for me since my work said they don't need me right now and I am on summer break.

Avatar deserves to be forgotten hehe. But I think the standard runtime for comic book movies should be around 2 hours.

Yes it has. There were four screenings between Wednesday and Saturday during the press rounds. the majority of print and online journos were there. I'd say at minimum 150

You know Poni_Boy, I've been trying to spread the word on some of the twitter reactions for The Wolverine on other forums, like blu-ray.com...

All they keep saying is, "Yeah, the same thing happened for Green Lantern."

But I keep trying to tell them, these are actual journalists reactions...not fanboys or studio exec.

Really wanting to prove them wrong :D

Has Fox said anything about pushing up the embargo date? I highly doubt they are still waiting on the DAY before release to lift it.

It's a useless effort. Don't waste your time. If anyone had tried to convince me of this movie being even halfway decent before I saw it I would have laughed them off the internet. This is one of those "fool me once" situations. Just gotta let it run its course

Now I've been back and forth on this movie, but I don't see how it has ever looked or seemed so bad that it warrants all the pessimism I see out there.
