Hugh Jackman Talks Getting Bodybuilding Advice From Dwayne Johnson

Favorite bit from this at the end of the article:
"One of the coolest moments when I was speaking to him -- he was on a movie at the time -- and in the background someone knocked on his trailer door and he goes, 'Hang on a second!' He opens it up, he goes, 'I'm talking to Wolverine, you tell them on set they can wait,'" Hugh laughed.

Edit: And Dwayne's tweet regarding this:

Les Miserables to Wolverine - love seeing Hugh's commitment to the characters. Happy to help. Proud of ya bud.

I loved everything about Iron Man 3 up until it turned into a CGI free for all with suits taking on glowing mercenaries. Biggest cop-out third act in a Marvel Studios movie yet.

I never liked Man of Steel. Saw it twice before reviewing it.

What I consider the best superhero movies as of today (the list changes depending on my mood/more viewings) are:

1) The Rocketeer

2) Iron Man

3) Batman Begins

4) The Avengers

5) Batman (89)

6) Superman: The Movie

7) Hellboy

8) The Dark Knight

9) Dredd

10) X-Men: First Class/Blade II

I'm not one to gush about a movie just because it's fresh on my mind. I'm actually more cynical than most. I don't go in with a "you have four stars and it's up to you to keep them" mentality. Every film I watch has to earn its way up the rating scale from zero. Obviously, my tastes are different than many (most?). But as of right now I have no problem saying The Wolverine has easily slipped into my top 5 list. And this is coming from a guy who was ready, willing and able to tear it apart until it won me over.

As much as I want to, I cannot say anything else about it. There is an embargo in place, and I respect the people who put it there. I hope I've answered enough.

Ah nice, it is in good company then. Though our lists for superhero films differ quite a bit, I still love all of those movies sans superman the movie (I'm in the man of steel boat)

Anyway the only thing I would think to ask right now without going into the trouble zone, is how faithful is this movie to the Japan storyline of the comics? Well maybe compared to other similar movies that have adapted certainnstorylines from the comics.

I'm honestly just curious about how well it stuck to the comics, given it's a fox movie and all haha. Or mayb this... did you read the story first, and if so, did it have any influence on how you saw the movie going into it?

Here's an interview with Famke:

Wolverine: Famke Janssen Talks Bed Scenes With Hugh Jackman - 'So Many People Are Jealous'
Access Hollywood

Famke Janssen reprises her role as Jean Grey in the upcoming film, "The Wolverine," and the majority of her job duties this time around included cozying up to a shirtless Hugh Jackman - which, the big screen beauty admits is not a bad gig!

"I think so many people are jealous," Famke told Access Hollywood at "The Wolverine" junket in New York on Thursday. "[I was] lying in bed with Hugh Jackman, looking lovingly into his eyes over and over and over again, day after day."

Though it's been years since Famke and Hugh spent time together, when she arrived on set for the first day of filming (exhausted from having come straight from a 24-hour flight), the Aussie's warm welcome made it all worth it.

"Hugh was standing there with his arms wide open going, 'Thank you so much for being here.' I melted!" she said. "I forgot about the jet lag, forgot about the journey and was like, 'Why are you thanking me? I should be thanking you!'"

Adding, "He's just amazing. He's truly a beautiful soul."

While the Marvel story of X-Men's powerful mutants may seem geared toward a male audience, Famke said she's confident ladies will enjoy "The Wolverine."

"I think women will definitely love this movie. Hugh Jackman is the first draw - that's already got half the female audience in right there," she said, laughing. "And there's a love story, there are tender moments.
"Hugh's character is going through changes and dealing with guilt and issues of immortality, so there's a lot to relate to from a female perspective," she added.

"The Wolverine" slashes its way into theaters on July 26.

I saw the video of this interview on accesshollywood site... man, Famke looks amazing.

I like the white and gray ones, I need a new Wolverine shirt...

Looks like we could have a similar scenario as in 2011, where the two MCU movies of the year and a X-Men film from FOX get solid reviews while the lone DC production gets the worst feedback among the year's CBMs.

But the reviews (what Hammer is referring to) haven't been that good, especially coming from early screenings where it's been said that WB execs shed a tear from how supposedly good the movie was. And then 56% happened.

Let's hope The Wolverine doesn't follow suit. Early screenings have been excellent so far.

Oh, I know. And I can totally see where those bad reviews came from. I liked it, but I had problems with it as well.

If we can avoid a Rotten score on this, I'll be happy, that's for sure.

Shed a tear from how good it was?!

Good Lord. That's some hilarious pre-release hyperbole there.

Have there been anymore reactions to the movie, Twitter or otherwise? This is probably the hardest it's ever been to determine if a comic book film is great or absolute garbage.

Why? Have there been bad reactions?

I think what you said fits more with Man of Steel and it's Twitter reactions.

Reviews are embargoed until 7/25, so Twitter has been our best outside resource so far. One person here who's seen it (Poni_Boy), obviously cannot give details due to the embargo, but it's worth it to note that he originally thought it would be garbage but wound up loving it. He's posted enthusiastically about it here and in the DOFP forum.

I posted this roundup of the responses to footage screened a few weeks ago, which were also very positive:

All the twitter reactions I've seen, including some dancing around the embargo, have hinted at having a positive reaction to the film.
