You do realize you are contradicting yourself right? He doesn't know what will be cut, but he obviously went uber-violent in certain scenes. That is a clear indication that he knew he was making scenes that wouldn't get cleared for the final cut.Don't be daft. Ratings are decided afterwards by independent censors, not during production, although studios know roughly what is acceptable.
But Mangold obviously is aware that people want an uber-violent Wolverine, so he must have gone beyond the rating in certain scenes then held them back.
An R-rated Wolverine will never be released in cinemas, because kids like Wolverine too. And probably because it would lead to lower box office because you are excluding family audiences.
Also we aren't talking about a couple of minutes here. 10-12mins is a lot of film. Second, I am of the belief that creativity and visions is the most important part. If he filmed scene
