Yea I know, cause I would have assumed those would have been filmed before they went to vancover. Or maybe they might use a green screen for it?

This was never confirmed but there was that production schedule that floated around:

Principle Photography begins 22 August 2011 and shooting will run until April 2012. “Superman” will enter Post-Production May 1, 2012 and will continue until November 2012 set for release in Mid-December 2012 (14th – 21st) [Date still TBC].

Principle Photography will start in [Location TBC] which will act as “Smallville” and will film for about 40 days for 4 scenes: [BLACKOUT][HOMECOMING], [FUTURE DISCUSSION], [SHIP DISCOVERY] and [FUNERAL]. [/BLACKOUT]

Filming will then move to [Location TBC] where the majority of filming takes place. Shooting here will last Mid-September until Early January 2012.

Filming will then move to the European and Asian continents as well as the Middle East for minor shoots from January 5th to mid February 2012.

Filming will then move to a UK Studio until late April 2012 for interior shoots and set shoots before entering Post-Production on May 1.

So they may be going overseas early next year?

Maybe if not Africa, a similar scenario.

Oh ok, thanks Willi, I feel a little better now, though like you said it isn't confirmed. I thought I just saw chicago, and vancover so I got a little nervous...thanks again

I seriously doubt that. The Flyby script was considered too far removed from the Superman story we know and that played a large part in not getting made- the fanboy reaction online.

I don't think WB will go so far as to change elements of the Superman story that much. That script had major changes to the Superman story. It just won't be accepted.

To believe it would be a kind of panic thinking.

i don't understand u. for once u said u would love to know more about krypton and the history. and now you dislike the flyby script. flyby has a trilogy about krypton!!!

'won't be accepted' is not a reason at all.

It was significantly changed from the comics. That's why it won't be and wasn't accepted. It's not the Krypton history I wanted to see. It had Jor-El committing suicide, Superman killed etc. It turned Lex into a Kryptonian.

It's not just black and white, where I want to see Krypton and so will accept any revisions they make.

The changes were too much and that's why it got such a bad reaction that WB changed their mind.

as if the suit isn't a significant change from the comics. :o

btw, which version of script you have read on?

will you accept the followings:
the krypton doesn't explode;
a rebellion takes place;
jor-el still lives but in prison;
kara is killed in front of superman to show how brutal zod is;
at the end of the movie, superman gotta go back to krypton to free his people and save his father. (plot for next movie)

:wall:

None.

you sure? if this movie is going about the same direction, i'm afraid you might sing a different tone from now. :oldrazz:

btw, don't bang your head against the wall. you r no superman. :woot:

Could you just accept this as my standard reply to you?:

fine. i just sorta wanna know why people are interested about krypton. it is a doomed planet.

when flyby offers them a full trilogy story about krypton, they can know all the science, techno, architecture and culture about krypton. they reject at once. kinda weird.

I've been thinking... Shouldnt Zod and his buddies be dressed like Kryptonians and not like Batman? I think something similar to whatever Jor-El is going to wear would be ideal. Obviously he should be armoured and armed, but other than that i dont see why they need to look like Batman.

because batman is badass??? ;P

FlyBy was a ridiculous script. Everything about Krypton was just off the mark. And not even a little. Please read the script yourself before judging others' opinion. You'll find that Willi Berg's opinion is well justified. One of Luthor's charms was that he, as a human, valued their own species above all others, and truly hated Superman for having invaded his planet and pretty much taking himself and his corporation out of the spotlight. If you make Luthor a Kryptonian, not only do you pretty much strip Superman's arch enemy of everything that made him great, but you also destroy everything Siegel and Schuster have built. As far as I'm concerned, FlyBy's vision of Krypton is an abomination and a smear on their legacy. I will however, applaud J.J.'s action scenes. He still knows how to write action. I have never before read a script that set Superman in such a bleak light.

And then there's this:

Well like I've said before, I think that there's only so much you could change and modify for Superman's story in order for it to be modernized and fit better onto the screen before you get to the point where you're not longer dealing with "Superman" period.

Personally, I think it'd be safer and perhaps better if they just went about finding new ways of telling the classic/traditional stuff that's been universally received.

Superman: The Movie was great, but in this day and age, I think the best way to successfully bring Superman to the big screen would be to adapt the countless Modern Age comics (1985-present) that brought both drama and action to their readers.
Watchmen? Modern Age ;)
Superman would fair well from the same method, I think :)

Just as long as they don't "angst" up the character for the sake of drama or something else stupid.

Well, seeing as how Superman is up against at least the military (up until some point), Zod, Faora and one huge CGI monster, I'm sure he'll feel a little stressed out every now and again.

lol; no doubt. I didn't mean that Superman shouldn't have problem, emotional ones for that matter, of his own.

It's just the way on how they write him handling those problems that I'm concerned with.

It's Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan we're talking about. I doubt he goes all gooey and starts sobbing all the time like Smallville's Tom Welling :D

just ignore the lex part. i think they have revised his part in the latest version just before it got trashed.

i believe the krpyton story/ origin of superman in MOS will not be the same like we know. (the sciencist of a doomed planet sent away his son to planet earth in order to save him)
and somehow for all the hints / rumours, they are taking elements from the flyby script. ie: jor-el visited/investigate the earth/smallville before sending his son. it's well planned to johnathan kent. planet krpton might not be exploded. zod purposely comes to earth for kal-el / not see and conquer.

so how well / ready r u to accept the changes on superman origin? i hope when you learn that it's about the same as flyby, you don't suddenly change your tune like most of the people here on the suit. (where the design show great similarities)

I don't change tune. If I like it, I'll gladly admit it. It's safe to assume Jor-El investigated Earth in every conceivable version of Superman's origin. How else could he know about the powers its yellow sun would give his son? Planet Krypton should explode. Period. And Zod also came to Earth to enslave Kal-El. That was his original plan in Superman II.

"You will bow down before me, Jor-El. Both you, and then one day, your heir!".
Sounds pretty clear to me. Forcing planet Earth and its inhabitants into submission was just a nice bonus, since they had no other place to go (as far as the film's plot details).

Where are you getting this information?

Seriously, I see absolutely no evidence whatsoever that they are taking anything from the flyby script. Even the suit, is obviously very very different... They have a similar circular design at his middle, and both designs have a darker blue... but the 's', the cape, and the newly revealed silver designs on the side seperate it completely.

So far, we know nothing much about the plot. So where your seeing these flyby similarities is beyond me.

The costume design for Flyby is almost the same as the Re-launch's.

There was a villain named Ty-Zor in it :hehe:

While were at it, I'm predicting Kryptonian names in MOS, like...

Dr-Pep-per

Fan-Ta

Co-La

Spr-Ite

Pep-Si :lmao:
