Well, of course along with being the God of Mischief he is also known for being quite the fashionista. Just like Clark.Only one person that looks good in Avengers is Loki.

Pretty certain they are. As some of us have stated in the past. Nolans, Goyer and Snyder will probably taking inspiration from Last Son, Birthright, For All Seasons, Byrnes Man of Steel run, Secret Origins, and maybe a little stuff from Johns Braniac run.
I'm just guessing, but I reckon Superman will end up joining Zod and Co for a little while.
Cause you have to think, there is more to Superman than just saving the world from the likes of Darkseid!
One of the things I think and hope the movie will touch on, is Superman's struggle with the world of how it actually is. Clark was raised on a farm in a small and friendly town, so he would be kind of sheltered and bemused by how the world actually works. He wants to save and help us, he becomes Superman. But more than just helping a cat out of a tree and saving an old pensioner from being hit by a car...he wants to help and save society itself. We all know in the comics he jumps in to the chaos, does his thing and leaves...
Superman's 3 struggles in this movie should be 1) himself, 2) the villains, 3) society.
The conflict and struggle of helping a society where violence is part of everyday life, it's torture for a lot of people out there. People in those cases usually give up or go with the flow. Not Superman, he should be the inspiration of never giving up, even when all things seem hopeless.
But wouldn't it be interesting if Superman actualky DID give up on thinking he could save the world by installing light through darkness? Where his one last resort is to join Zod and turn Earth in to a "Utopia". Superman thinking that the only way to save people is take away their freedom, their will...controlling them like puppets? Superman being opposed by the untrusting forces and rejected by the unwilling...would he really do something that inhumane to save the world, knowing THAT is the ONLY way to save it?
We know he wouldn't, but it would be interesting if he pondered and accepted the idea, believing it to be for the greater good.

The thing that confuses me about Shannon's description of his Zod not being 'all bad' is that we know he fights Jor-el... So he's a 'baddie' before he even gets to earth.

I think it's like bare basics: Zod, while a villain, is a guy who lost his home, and wants it back. Just how I think Superman is, or at least should be, someone who wants to make sure Earth doesn't turn out like Krypton, inside and out.
I can definitely see The Nolans, Goyer, and Snyder using Last Son and Birthright as the major influences for this film. In fact, I hope rumors are true. It perfectly fits what Goyer and Nolan were pitching to WB for the 'modern' take on Superman.
Why do I get the feeling this is going to depict Krypton in not such a positive light? It seems the big thing anymore is making Krypton a totalitarian hellhole.
Krypton has never really been shown as positive, IMO. To start, you have Krypton's leaders who just let the planet explode and kill billions despite numerous warnings by Jor-El.
