My theory right now, she's Robert Queen's illegitimate child. We already know that he screwed around behind Moira's back. Or she's his ex-lover (but the age difference between the actors makes me doubt that they'll go there). It's interesting that they're keeping the precise connection a secret right now (she doesn't answer Oliver and Slade stops her from telling Blood). She was effective and being really smug and manipulative, I love Summer Glau.

Yeah, I'm hoping for the latter choice as well, especially with her sins of the father line.

It wouldn't make sense for her to say that, along with how it's being repeated in his son, if she were his daughter as well.

And she is too young, imho, to have been one of Robert's flings.

Crazy Summer Glau was awesome. Mainly because she's just been sitting around in her office most of the season.

Can't you people just let a GA enemy be a GA enemy? Isabel is Isabel...she was Robert's affair (I really can't see your problem here! I mean Robert appeared to be shady and slimey...he could well have been a pedo or a nearly-pedo if you really insist on keeping everything legal...and that doesn't mean Isabel is a victim! Look at Silvio Berlusconi: powerful, rich and corrupt man in his 70s always having stuff going on with 17/18yo girls...and the thing is they're as hungry for the fame and the power as he probably is).
Isabel wanted to become influential by taking Robert and probably he gave her loads of money and some good jobs in industry. She becomes openly his little fiance (that's why Moira hates her) at least within the confines of QConsolidated (if it were too open Ollie and Thea would have known from the papers). Robert dies, she is obsessed with the idea that because of their shared industrial vision they were meant for each other and she was meant to take over instead of Robert's legitimate family. She waits years gaining power and takes what she thinks it's hers (in this version being helped, backed in her plans by Slade as they share a common goal (that's why she is portrayed as equal to Slade unlike Blood who's a pawn)).

That said I'd like her to keep the company and stay alive. She should be a pain in Ollie's a** for a long time without them having to meet to much (after Ollie has embraced he's new "poor" self)
