Comics The SUPERIOR Spider-Man - Part 2

He's in the present watching his grand-father develop a company that will be the bane of the 2099 universe... and if he interferes, it'll probably wipe him from existence...

Now THAT's some serious family drama...

Good writer, good artist = many buys from me. :yay:

Which is why I think "Mortal" could be referring to him...

So did any one read the new issue?

I did. It was fantastic. Loved seeing Stunner back. And Ock in his classic white armani suit. Also very clever how he got out of the Lamaze situation over his doctorate.

The most interesting development this issue...?

Ock's old body was never buried.

Gotta admit, it was great seeing classic armani Ock again. I've been too used to cyber nightmare-zombie Ock.

Liked seeing Stunner again. Always like seeing characters reappear that I haven't seen in the book since my childhood (as long as they're handled properly).

Okay issue overall, but I hope the pace picks up soon.

I'm seriously hyped for that, it has ton of potential! And I think Slott managed so far to write him as Miguel, not as Parker lite.

What if The Goblin King is ParkTavius?
What if ParkTavius used Adrian's Rejuvenator?

Does anyone else think that Carlie is gonna die during goblin nation?

I have a feeling she will but I'm thinking it will be later on. She'll probably be the loss that comes with Peter eventually getting his body back and defeating Ock. It will be one of those moments that will haunt him for the next 20 years.

I hope I'm wrong because I actually like Carlie but I have a feeling it's going to happen that way.

So, with the last page, do you think the ID of the Goblin that we've been speculating [BLACKOUT](Pete)[/BLACKOUT] is more likely or less likely now?

Less. Especially considering what the mayhem the Goblin is supposedly going to cause in the upcoming arc.
Peter would never do that.

Definitely. Question is who took it.

Well, what came to my mind was either:

A) The robotic arms reactivated and are now walking around somewhere with Doc Ock's decaying corpse a la Spider-Man: Reign. :oldrazz: (Definitely not likely)

B) Carolyn Trainer took it. After all, if Stunner came back, why not her? Or

C) The Green Goblin has the body, which is what I initially thought when I first read it. But then that would imply the Green Goblin already knew "Spider-Man" was really Doc Ock before Carlie was kidnapped and got a hold of her journal. Which would kind of give the whole "Green Goblin is really Peter in Norman Osborn's body" a little more weight, would it not?

I've been getting that same feeling about Carlie as well, in that if she died, the only friend of Peter's who knew the truth would be gone when he returned and thus makes him having to deal with all the damage Doc Ock has done that much harder. I definitely felt that Ana Maria is being set-up for some big tragedy for Otto, and the cover for Superior Spider-Man #28 strongly implies this as well. However, here's an interesting idea:
What if the "new Goblin" that the Green Goblin recruits is Carlie Cooper? And what if this happens either because Carlie figures that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," and/or she gets injected with the Goblin formula?

Your "C" idea was sort of how I was thinking. But not sure based on Goblin's reaction to the journal. Is he faking or is this the first he heard of the swap?

I definitely felt that Ana Maria is being set-up for some big tragedy for Otto,

The scenes with Ana Maria have been painful the closer they get, because you know it can't end well, since we assume Pete will be back.

Yeah I also believe Ana Maria won't be making it past goblin nation.

Don't get me wrong, I actually hope she's still around when Peter returns to see how that will play out.

Ahhh, women in refrigerators....:whatever:

Oh great. The stupid and way too overused "women in refrigerator" analogy rears its ugly head again. Yes, there are occasionally pointlessly gratuitous or borderline misogynistic deaths of supporting characters in comics. But I hate every time a love interest dies in a comic series it's painted with this ridiculously wide brush. What were Ned Leeds' and Harry Osborn's (well, when he was still dead) deaths then? "Dudes in car-trunks" then?

Harry was in the back of an Ambulance...

Shocker almost died in one of those recently. Too soon, man, too soon! :woot:
