Comics The SUPERIOR Spider-Man - Part 2

Don't forget, StillANerd...
Harry for a LONG time was considered by Marvel to be the Main Mastermind of the whole Clone Saga until they changed it towards the end and made Gaunt, Stromm instead of Harry...
So, yes, Harry is a leader type... technically... But, no, I don't think that it is him.

Also, if (hahaha) Flash gets the Symbiote back (I really can't believe Marvel let that slip) Then Flash will know that Otto is in Pete's body...
Maybe that's why he runs off to join the Guardians of the Galaxy...

(Who am I kidding, of course I'm not surprized that Marvel ruined that!)

Stillanerd: Whoa, good eye on that last point! I didn't even notice that!

I am really interested to see what Slott will do with Miguel. I love the fact that he is stranded in the present.

I've yet to feel a sense of real menace in this new Goblin the way I did when Harry and Norman were him. He just feels too Saturday morning cartoony with his secret sewer lair and army of brainwashed kids.

(Granted I haven't read the two latest issues, so maybe something's changed)

Not really, but something interesting did happen in the latset issue

I could never view the Goblin as a genuine menace, in either of the runs. Norman Osborn, on the other hand, I found to be a terrific menace, like when he took over SHIELD or became infused with all of the Avengers powers. In a way, the costumed alter-ego does nothing, but the non-masked Steve Jobs of the Marvel Universe is far more disturbing without his mask.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who finds Norman Osborn to be a better villain than the Green Goblin! :woot:

Honestly what they did with Roderick Kingsley, Norman could have benefited from even more.

It's a flashback story.

Hey guys, so I haven't been keeping up with this iteration of Spider-Man. Just kind of wondering, in a nut shell, what does everyone think of it? Growing up, I loved reading comics. The stories told were so great! Unfortunately though, I feel the quality of story lines has gone downhill drastically!

Is this the case with Superior Spider-Man?

Nope... Since Dan Slott took over as sole writer of Amazing/Superior Spider-Man, the book hasn't been this good since Roger Stern's magnificent run in the early 80's...

:yay:

SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #29
DAN SLOTT (W) • GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI (A/C)
ARTIST VARIANT COVER BY JORGE MOLINA
“Goblin Nation” - Part 3 of 5
• The Spider-Slayer Squadron were supposed to be under Mayor J. Jonah Jameson’s control...
• ...but now they’ve been drafted into The Goblin Nation!
• Guest Starring: Spider-Man 2099!
Hmm...seems to me the theory from the Spider-Man Crawlspace that
Mason Banks is actually the Goblin King in disguise
just got a lot more traction.

SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #2
Christos Gage (W) • Javier Rodriguez (A)
COVER BY Mike DeMundo
• The last temptation of Green Goblin… Phil Urich!
• As Goblin Nation consumes New York, the Superior Spider-Man’s world is in flames!
• Who will rise? Who will fall? NO ONE will be the same after this!
So we're having yet another annual for Superior Spider-Man a mere four months after the last one that came out this November? I'd say that's a definite sign Superior Spider-Man is going to end and that The Amazing Spider-Man is going to be getting the "All-New Marvel NOW" treatment via a relaunch.

As a long time reader since the early 70's, I wholeheartedly second this!

No. Superior Spider-Man has been Dan Slott's magnum opus and one of the best Spider-Man era's I've ever read. I'm pining for Peter to make is triumphant return to cap it all off.

As wonderful as this storyline has been I'm starting to wonder if perhaps this is Dan's swan song with the character.

I'm starting to think that the arc following the Goblin King one is going to be the Peter returns story. There may be a breather in between but I really think it's coming sooner now.

Who is the current Green Goblin? I thought it was Norman. I started reading Spider-Man during Doc Ock's plan to destroy the world.

I'm not surprised if this is indeed true. After all, the promotional teaser for Goblin Nation was "The End," the Amazing Spider-Man 2 film coming out around the same time next year, and issue #30 is a nice round number to end on. In any case, I think this also means that the:

Green Goblin is somehow Peter Parker and/or Green Goblin is Peter in Norman Osborn's body or some variations of those
is still very much in play.

EDIT: Also, I know I predicted what I'm about to describe was something I thought would be in Superior Spider-Man #20, but I can easily see something like this for Superior Spider-Man #25--what if the final page of that issue is the Green Goblin removing his mask and it's revealed to be [blackout]Peter Parker, or at least his face[/blackout] underneath?

Is it possible for a "Superior" Spider-Man book AND an "Amazing" Spider-Man book to co-exist?

C'mon stillanerd... make this scenario plausible...

I could see them do that. Not sure how Pete's getting back (still think it will have to do with something with the "soul molecule"), but either Pete or Otto will need a body (hey, they brought Otto's body back to life once before).

Then we'll have Superior, Amazing, Scarlet, and 2099 all swinging around town (with the rumored Ultimate stopping by).

Hey Boulder, Do you happen to have a larger version of your Avatar?

No sorry. But Jewish Hobbit was the one that found it and posted it in this thread (or in the old one). Unfortunately, you'll have to either search for it or PM him about it.
