BvS The Superman Suit Thread - Part 4

I still thought it was cool seeing the suit in a warmer shade of saturated blue:

Blue isn't a warm color. And please stop using that thing called picasa (it looks like Utraviolet...).

I'm also not a big fan of too bright blue. In that shot it's just the light from the batmobile, shining directly at him. I think this is my favorite shade of blue for the suit :

Lol I didn't even say anything.
no, you just rolled your eyes as if everything i said was pointless.
i'm not going to do that to you because your opinion is valuable, just like everyone else's.

i can understand what the manipper was going for, and it was a good attempt... but that shade of blue... it hurts the eyes.

I do like the dark blue for the Cavill superman suit in both MoS and BvS. But when I once noodled around using Picassa to see what the suit looks like saturated, I actually really dug it in a lighter shade of blue. Ignoring the bloom in the rainy sky in the picture below, I still thought it was cool seeing the suit in a warmer shade of saturated blue:

lol, it's hard to get past that bloom...

but in all honesty, with that particular shot in mind of Superman about to be hit by the batmobile :oldrazz: personally, i would of preferred something more like this:

Blue isn't a warm color..

this is just my opinion, but i personally do think you can make blue a warmer color than just the generic blue... the animated JL Superman had warm blue tones at times when they added shades of red to the blue.

i honestly think that would work for the Supergirl suit more than the Superman suit. it would make it more feminine, which would fit perfectly for the character, while a blue that has a bit more cyan in it, and even the red a little bit of yellow in it...

this could still be within the Superman universe, but it would visually differentiate the two

I've always liked the color on Christopher Reeves suit. I'm more nostalgic to it. The darker it gets, the more it reminds me of Dean Cain's- not that there's anything wrong with it. Just not my groove.

Blue is inherently a cool color....

I'm also not a big fan of too bright blue. In that shot it's just the light from the batmobile, shining directly at him. I think this is my favorite shade of blue for the suit :

now see, even there it's a bit dark for me... in fact, while fooling around in photoshop, i noticed there's barely any blue to work with...
in a situation such as that, i would want the blue to stand out more, along with the red.

that dean cain suit is too shiny for me. that's not my groove either.
i want a darker blue, but not an intensely dark blue, if that makes any sense... you can have a dark blue, but still retain a brightness to it

Blue is inherently a cool color....

i know, but by adding other colors to it, and affecting the colors around it, you can make it not as cold as it usually is. that's what I'm meaning

I gotchu. Adding a little red-ness gives a purplish hue to it, which makes it warmer. I think we are getting that with this suit, and previously we got it in MOS.

see, personally, i think that should belong to Supergirl, and not Superman

Just from the very nature of the suit, I think everyone will see their favorite shade of blue in the movie. This suit is perfection in that it has something for everyone to appreciate.

I love the style of the suit and how it can 'change' colour - however, imo the suit in that pic almost looks dusty. I know it isn't (obviously), but when I see something that in my eye should be bright and vibrant, but isn't, I imagine it is dusty :D

The night image when the batmobile is aiming at him, is basically perfect imo. Bloody amazing suit they made!

indeed. it was so... freaking exciting.

been watching the tv spot 1 many times. it's gold.

And you can see chest hair. They are clearly maintaining the rug to ensure no Brandon Routh-esque 'Superboy' quips.
Useful stuff, that chest hair :D

This was my personal favorite shade of blue.

I wish the cape was still that silky smooth..

I think the colors of the suit are at their best when Supes lands in front of the Senate building.

I think that's the only change of the suit I wasn't a fan of, but it's not such a big deal. The cape porn looks just as good as in Man of Steel, so I'm happy. :D

It's just so strange that now supermans cape has the same texture as mech batmans cape

The cape seems to have an almost velvety texture to me. Love it. This is a case where you want CGI versus practical. The cape is awesome.

I love MOS but looking at Cavill compared to himself in DOJ is like Superboy to Superman.
