BvS The Superman suit Thread

they should have gone with a lighter blue, but that's done. I can't think of another explanation as to why they'd make a change.

It's a screentest from McG's Superman movie, which Cavill was cast in but never got made. There are a few better pictures of the costume around here somewhere. It looks okay but it's sort of reminiscent of the Schumacher batsuits.

I kinda like it too. But yeah, I don't see why he would wear that when he has his suit. Maybe he didn't have the suit handy and had to make a rescue?

He has super speed. No matter where his suit is, he can get to it, change into it, and get back to where he was before anyone can even blink.

If they were going to use that outfit (which I wouldn't mind, because it's a good look), I don't think Superman should be the one to wear it. I think it would be cool if children and Superman supporters wore it to show how much they appreciate him and everything he's done.

EDIT: I can imagine a scene where Superman is contemplating what he should wear after his normal suit was damaged beyond repair after his last battle with [insert villain's name here]. He spots one of the shirts in a store window, smiles a bit, and the next thing we see is him flying into battle. It's cheesy, but...nah, I've got nothing, it's just cheesy. t:

I know I can't have my dream Superman costume in these movies (classic comic look) but I would like it if they brighten the costume over all and added some red in the middle to break up the blue (trunks, belt, or just color color schemes).

As people have posted before... the costume itself is actually pretty bright. The way it's filmed makes it appear darker in certain scenes.

obviously he'll have the same costume for now before he's beaten to death before coming back in MOS 3 which will be a full out justice league film with him returning to stop Lex. This next film BOS is very much shaping up to be an Empire Strikes Back kind of feel.

I think he should. All this talk about the new batsuit, but does anyone else think it's a possibility we could get a new Superman suit? I'd be happy if he opted for a less "alien"/treaded look on the suit and let him look more like, well...SUPERMAN in it, with vibrant colors and a better suit texture that looks less like snake skin/chainmail and maybe even the "s" curl (the only superheroes who should be in chainmail are Captain America and Aquaman, maybe - possibly Thor)). Cavill could look like Superman walking off the page of a comic if they let him, look at this screen test pic:

I'd be fine with something like that, in color at least. That shot alone there looks more like Superman than almost anything we saw in MOS (I liked the MOS cape though and how it went into the shirt - best thing about that suit, the cape and the boots, practically identical to the comics).

I believe that the world is ready for Superman to look more like Superman.

It was from the failed Superman film that was gonna be made before Superman Returns. The one that McG (Charles Angles) was going to Direct and/or the one that J.J. Abrams wrote the script for I think. I think in that movie Superman's suit was suppose to give him his powers.

No it wasn't. That was the "suit in a can" compressed suit, and had Clark leave Earth to search for Krypton's remains at the end.

That's the suit that JJ Abram created. I remember hearing that it was also rumored to give him his powers too. It's the McG Superman suit. The funny thing is that the MOS superman suit is just a darker variation of it.

That's interesting, I don't ever remember hearing about the suit giving him powers in any version of Superman they were doing once...

I don't think it is either....the "S" looks different and so does the area with the cape. Shoulders are different too and so is the color (course it could just be the lighting bit I'm fairly certain that's a different (re: better) shade of blue).

Yeah, it's a bit cheesy. But also kinda touching. I do hope the public appreciates him someday and he gets to see this.

Yes, it reminds me of that too. Although I love the MOS suit, I do have a fascination with other suits, particularly black ones. Most of the time I prefer Superman's traditional blue, but there's something badass about Superman in black. Maybe for an older, slightly battle-worn Superman.
