The Wolverine The 'The Wolverine' Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 1

As of October 1,2013
Wolverine: Origins: $373,062,864
The Wolverine: $373,051,833

Hmmm...can this movie get around $27M in china to finally hit $400M ?

Iron Man 3
Outside US:800 million
China:125 million
Roughly-1/6

Man of Steel:
OutsideUS:370 million
China:65 million
Roughly-1/6

The Wolverine:
Outside US:240 million
China:???

By that calculation,The Wolverine should do around 35-40 million. But I think it will do only around 10-15 million in China.

Jack Reacher got 15million in China. Elysium, Resident Evil 5, Oblivion and Smurfs 2 got more than 15 million. White House Down and Cloud Atlas got 27 to 28 million. I don't think it will be hard for The Wolverine to get more than 15 million.

Of course it can!

Its the Wolverine!:woot:

The Wolverine finally outgrossed X-Men Origins: Wolverine worldwide gross!

The wolverine Is now at 374 Million worldwide. It has outgrossed origins worldwide and Is now third highest grossing X-Men film worldwide.
Only the last Stand and X2 did better among X-Men films.
If the film would have done better domesticlly It would have done even better
worldwide.Grossing 242 million overseas, the best overseas of any X-Men related film,Is testerment to populary of hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Well there's probably going to be a Wolverine 3. Especially if The Wolverine crosses 400 m.

I do wonder how much the added extra 3D prices put the gross up, fox pretty much made it 3D for the extra money, I mean even i see the film in 3D and apart from the train scene a lot of it wasn't 3D friendly

If people are willing to pay higher prices to see a movie it shouldn't count against the movie.

Well yeah that's why fox made it 3D, in the end its beneficial to them

Infact any Xmen film from now on will be 3D, that's a certainty, X-force will probably be 3D too

Glad to see it has now surpassed Origins WW, deserved to make double what that did but its a victory of sorts at least no matter how small the margin.

The Wolverine will be not released in China. Sad but true.

Superhero movies make 1/6th of their outside US grosses in China. So by that calculation,Wolverine should do 40-50 million in China. But I don't think it will.

^you got a source for that?

BoxOffice.com and a couple of articles already confirmed the Oct 17 release date.

Foreign: $257,200,000 66.1%
