The Twelve

Hmm...There's a quite a bit of difference between poverty and abuse. Not to mention the fact that almost everyone in NYC is poverty stricken. ;)

Depends on the level of poverty, really. Growing up literally on the streets could probably be as psychologically scarring as being physically abused, and I imagine living on the streets as a kid would probably lead to some physical abuse anyway.

True, but Cletus Kassady murdered people long before he ran across the symbiote, even as a child (he burned down his orphanage to cover it up). I could understand Spider-Man not wanting Venom to kill Carnage at the end of Maximum Carnage, but talking about Cletus as if he had no choice but to commit atrocities because he'd been abused smacked of hypocrisy (because none of the many people he and his "family" killed were any of Peter's relatives). Crime is always a choice.

I was just giving some example of some baloney excuse for Kingpin, not saying I believed it.

Yeah, but that's not been the case for Fisk. I remember a fairly recent (last 10 years or so) Daredevil issue that documented Fisk's childhood. He was poor but he wasn't "on the streets". He took his anger to the streets though, that's for sure.

Crime like that is almost certainly not always a choice. That's deep seeded mental sickness. That's why those people don't go to prison. They go to mental institutions where they belong.

Not everyone who is abused kills people in return.

Besides, haven't Batman's rogues gallery utilized the mental health system for a good long while? ;)

My point is that Spidey was excusing Cletus in that story because of his past, and that's at best naive. There is nothing that happens in life that morally speaking allows you a "licence to kill" the innocent, least in my eyes.

Exactly.

I was hoping that it would be a female character,i hope at least one more is brought in.

Like all Marvel comics these days, will this be collected in paperback?

Hmm, interesting. We have some spandex people and suit people, and some who sort of bridge both.

Along with a giant robot, and lord knows what with Rockman.

Here is a scan from a Rockman story and a Micro-Rockman. I think he looks like Juggernaut.

Sorry no more females. The last two will be the character in the link above and another that is similar to Mister E, called the Phantom Reporter.

Somebody gets killed in the first issue. Who will it be?

Witness
Black Widow
Dynamic Man
Electro
Blue Blade
Mister E
Phantom Reporter
Rockman
Laughing Mask
Mastermind Excello
Fiery Mask
Captain Wonder

I say BW, DM, Electro, BB, Rockman, Lm, ME, FM and CW have the most going for them and would be more useable later on, which is according to the creative team the end goal... to have the ones that survive absorbed back into the pool of used characters.

I think the Phantom Reporter will die first and then the Witness. I think if one of the more useable characters die it will be Electro or maybe Mastermind Excello.

I'm looking forward to how the Twelve react when they realize that their guns can't do jack against a lot of the bad guys in the present.

That's a good point. Although, half these guys seem to go after mobsters, who can be harmed by bullets.

Unless they're the incredible, unkillable Kingpin.

Well, that's just ridiculous. The last time he "died" I think it was when that guy shot him about 6 times and he fell into the Hudson. The infections from the dirty water alone would've killed him.

Yeah, well, he's got a lot of white blood cells to cover all that mass.

Anyway, it's kind of lame when the big-name characters get killed by guns. I didn't feel anything at all when the Owl got filled full of lead in NA, and I actually like the Owl.

The Owl was always one of those borderline ******ed characters that I never gave a **** about.

I thought this was a cool header. Rockman looks just as i imagined him.
