The Twelve

So I see next weeks is MR. E... what exactly does this E stand for...
E FOR ECSTACY?

"E is for Extinction".

Okay, that one was bad. :o

It gets worse when you consider that in a mere 5 years, everything from that story has been reversed in a complete 180.

I'm not good at being funny am I? I suppose I should work on that. Anyway when does this series actually release lol? see again I laugh at foolish things too...

Mastermind Excello looks like some bastard hybrid lovechild of Namor and Dr. Strange. Anyway, he doesn't look too shabby, and good to have at least one member out of spandex.

They seem to be keeping the characters looks dead on te GA versions, so there will be a couple more out of Spandex. Mister E and Phantom reporter both wore the same outfits as the the Shadow and the Green Hornet... suits, fedoras, domino masks, whereas the Hornet wore a trench, they wear Shadow type capes.

Rockman will probably look similar to The Juggernaut with a helmit.

@ Marvelman418

I think it is planned to be once a month in 2008.

Today's reveal is Mr. E, another non-spandex guy as well as a balding one at that.

I wonder which was the more popular costume in the Golden Age: a suit with a cape over it or a trenchcoat.

I look forward to Rockman. I think he has the most potential to be used after the series, due to him being the king of an underground race. Although Marvel has quite a few divergent humanoid races with the Atlantians, Eternals, and Inhumans. I think the Abysians could be interesting, possibly a super tech, subterranean version of the Inhumans.

I hope the Twelve find the post CW world appalling and Black Widow gives Ironman a big kiss.

Why would they find it appalling? From what I understand of these characters, they weren't exactly shining paragons of heroism themselves.

They saved innocent lives by butchering bad guys. How's that not heroic?

I'd like to take this moment to point out that I'm against the death penalty.

Because GA heroes were generally pretty secretive and clandestine, thus the abundance of masks and shrouds and capes. Also, in their time the government was not involved in peoples lives as they are today. These guys would have only been paying a social security tax for a couple years and were probably still hacked off that the 16th Ammendment let the gov't start an income tax. None of these guys would wear seat belts or obey non-smoking in public laws purely on the principle of gov't interference. They definately wouldn't register. Also the fact that most of them killed or maimed their enemies would be a good reason not to want your identity known, especially by a gov't that just incarcerated half the heroes in the world. They probably won't be too pleased with Captain America being murdered either, which brings them even closer in line with the rebels.

As for what was more popular capes or trenchcoats with suits... I think there were actually more in just suits and fedoras without either. Quality had at least 7 characters in suits and they none wore capes or trenches. It kind of changed from company to company. But the most popular guy in that catergory was probably the Green Hornet and he was a trench wearer.

I'd like to see someone object when they're two seconds from an ass raping or a bullet to the head.
Well, I'm sure they wouldn't complain right then. Spider-Man's in a position to save people from those same things without resorting to such barbaric means, though, so I'm sure he'd object. Or he would have a few years ago. Now I'm not so sure.

He'd object then and he'd object now. He got that hard on for Fisk out of his system, and it's all good now. But that doesn't mean that Golden Age characters are any less heroic if the murder the bad guys. They're still saving innocent lives, and really that's what a hero boils down to.

A role model on the other hand is a different story....

Man, these characters suck more and more as we go along.

I'm going to Mexico in a couple weeks. I'll be sure to suck my toe all the way there.
