The Twelve

The costume looks better than most Golden Age costumes to me. At least it's got a consistent color theme. It basically looks like Lightning Lad or Black Lightning's costume, but green and yellow.

That's true. I don't think I could've taken another round of leg stubble.

You can be flamboyant and not homosexual. And be homosexual without being flamboyant. Blue Blade is just disturbingly flamboyant. I pray he's not gay, for the sake of other gay men. Sheesh. He reminds me of some of those creepy shirtless fellas who get arrested on COPS.

Jones just calls everybody racist or homophobe. He's pulling your leg I think.

He's flaming, I wouldn't call him homosexual...

Oh I know. I'm just trying to get a reaction out of Jones. ;)

Come on, if your last name was Voyant, would you not name your daughter Claire? I mean, you pretty much have to.

You know the guy who invented the Leer Jet named his daughter Shanda.

The rest of the twelve:

The panel then announced a new J. Michael Straz project called “The Twelve,” with art by Chris Weston. The book will feature Golden Age Marvel characters not seen since the 1940s, including Dynamic Man, Electro, Fiery Mask, Black Widow, Blue Blade, whose super power is “hanging out in parks after dark,” said Straz.

Captain Wonder, Laughing Mask, Mastermind Excello, Mr. “E,” the Witness, the Phantom Reporter, and Rockman. “It's about them adjusting to the present and letting go of the past, because the past wasn't all it's cracked up to be.” The series is a murder mystery, with one of them being killed early on.

Hints of Watchmen...

Hmm, I wonder if Excello will have anything to say about the young upstart who's stolen his name.

Well, now we know why he's dressed that way, at least. He is the answer to the question, "What if one of the Three Musketeers were a crazy pedophile?"

What I'm curious about is whether or not they're here to stay. I wonder if JMS will end the series with their deaths or a return to their own timeline as opposed to leaving them in this one.

I actually hope they die or go away after the mini. Captain America was much more iconic because he was arguably the only surviving American hero from "the greatest generation." The Agents of Atlas have now returned but 1) they were from the post-war period and 2) they're covert ops guys, so most people don't even know they exist. Having all these other WWII-era dudes pop up (especially if they all have the same "frozen in suspended animation" explanation) is fine while he's dead, but once he's back I hope he goes back to being the main man from WWII.

Cap was frozen in ice after he sacrificed himself to save others. He was lucky to survive. These guys were purposely taken, experimented on, and frozen by the nazi's to create super soldiers. Other than the fact that both were frozen they're reasons for being in today's age are quite different.

It's like saying Spider-man and the Hulk are too similiar because they both got their powers from radiation.

If you really think the blue blade is gonna steal caps thunder......sorry couldn't complete my sentence because the very concept gave me a stroke.

Does your arm get tired from all that reaching?

Why is it every time I give my opinion on something, you accuse me of "reaching"? They're opinions. Or are you one of those people who need others to spell out the fact that they're posting their opinions on message boards with "in my opinion" or "I think"? You don't agree with my view on the Twelve? Fine. But try not to assume logical superiority on something that's totally subjective. You just come off looking like an ass.

No I come off as some that said it to you once and you reacted so spastically that I now just feel the need to rub it in. I was just needling you. Don't take it so seriously.

But to be fair, I've seen you on several occasions assume logical superiority on something totally subjective and look like an ass doing it. I just figured it was your style.

Corp's style is decidedly '90's, with a pinch of tourist for good measure. He's got a fannypack for every day of the week.

It is my style, so I get a bit annoyed when people start stealing it. Find your own schtick. :cmad:

I can't help it. I drank my Haterade this morning. It'll last until 2 or 3 p.m., at least. :(
