Main Spidey looks larger in this image than he does in the season preview
Nearing the 20th anniversary of the 90s Spider-Man show, we see all these different adaptions of the final arc in that series

I have a love/hate relationship with this show. It has great animation, art style, and action. But the jokes tend to get cringy at times.
However, season 3 is actually pretty good for now. 3 episodes and not that many cut away segments with chibi/cutesy characters. I also heard the original writers were fired and replaced with new ones, which might explain the sudden change in tone. Despite it's flaws I'm still having hope for it.

Oh and hi Spidey fans! Sorry for this being my first post. I don't see any thread where new users can say ''hello''. Oh well, hi again!

Hey welcome to the forum

And no the original writers are not fired unfortunately the are working on Avengers Assemble and so far that show is stupid.

So, instead of Spider-Girl, it's just Rule63 Spider-Man?

I can't tell if I'm disappointed about not seeing Spider-Girl, or relieved these writers aren't touching her. And while we're at it, here's hoping the real Spider-verse won't kill her off

Talking sound, sped up
Sound recording is not good for this episode

Why is Loki made to hate Spider-Man so much? Did he do something to Loki in an Avengers comics that I don't know about and was adapted here? Or is this like Danny training Spidey how to fight in season 2, in replacement of Shang Chi?

There is a large focus on symbiotes now, I don't like symbiotes, Agent Venom is an exception
  • Swinging animation at the beginning of episode 3 is gorgeous, it's some of the most beautiful animation to be seen on this show :wow:
  • No wonder the Scarlet-Spider sounded like Flash in the show trailer
  • I love the mention of the New Warriors
Is J.K. Simmons still doing this show?
Yes, and his voice sounds perfect as always

Anybody see the reference to Superior Spider-Man in the new episode?
I did see it
Man, they swapped the dude's mind too often in this show
First with Wolverine
Then with Hulk
Now with Loki

Maybe Superior Spider-Man will happen in season 4

Is J.K. Simmons still doing this show?

Yes.

Is J.K. Simmons still doing this show?

Because he hates him and Spider-Man has defeated Loki on more than one occasion. The second time around he turned Spider-Man into Spider-Ham and tried to get Executioner to hunt him for a feast. That ended badly for Loki as well.

Season 3 has been fantastic so far. For all you raving continuity and character development maniacs, this show definitely plays that, though I don't expect haters to admit it.

That I understand, I'd like to know Spider-Man pissed the arch-enemy of which hero in comics and Loki possibly took his place in adaption?
Now I wonder if maybe they take it from the comic strips where Spider-Man was forced to enter Asgrad in Thor's stead to save everyone from Loki

As someone who made a comment on a continuity issue or two on this show, I decided to go easy on it, all the best shows have their share of continuity errors, this one is no worse than they are in continuity issues

The first arc made me laugh harder than any comedy attempt they made previously

Past Venom hosts in Ultimate Spider-Man:
1. Harry Osborn-Season 1
2. Random SHIELD Agents-Season 2
2. Green Goblin/Norman Osborn-Season 2
3. Peter Parker(Carnage)-Season 2
4. Random Creatures from Asgard-Season 3
5. Flash Thompson(Agent Venom)-Season 3

I'm not really sure I understand your question. Loki hasn't really taken the place of another character from the comics. It was a story where Loki was causing trouble and fighting Thor and Spider-Man and his team intervened and helped Loki defeat Thor. Spider-Man defeated. Loki

I wonder if it's like Iron Fist teaching Spider-Man new fighting techniques in this show
In Spider-Island, it was Shang Chi teaching Spidey different fighting techniques

I was wondering if there is a comic where Spider-Man pissed the arch nemesis of another hero in the comics, the way he outwitted Loki in this show

How's the new season going, Aziz? Any improvements?

It's still not the greatest thing in the world of animation but it feels different tonally. It's kind of like an actual show now with a building storyline and continuity, making use of stuff that just felt like random occurences in the previous seasons. Even the staging of the fight scenes feels smoother. One thing that used to really piss me off was when the action was going and they'd break it for some random joke but I don't think that's happened this season.

If you completely hated everything about the show, especially Drake Bell's portrayal of Spidey, I don't think you should expect to be won over at all. I've always been on the fence and I think I'm enjoying this season.

The gags are still there in season 3.

The world building and continuity in this show has always been there. The haters simply do not want to acknowledge it.

At the beginning all the team members didn't like Spider-Man or want to take his lead. By season 2 they are gelling and everyone is following Spidey's orders, even Nova. Spidey earned their respect and they started to follow his calls. It didn't happen in one episode.

Methinks there are enough improvements recommend the show

Really? Hmmm. Maybe I'll have to check out an episode or two. Drake Bell is still voicing Spidey? I'm assuming he is and that will always be a roadblock for me. Even if the writing turned stellar I don't think I can get past his voice. It's a big negative.

His voice never bothered me, I think he does a fine job and his voice is good
The audio recording for the first 2 episodes of the season are pretty fast, so you will probably have another thing to dislike about Spider-Man's voice

So, voice acting issues aside what are the improvements to the show that you feel warrant a 'recommendation?'

I wish Bell used his regular voice for Spidey. It's probably the way he has been written on the show that has led to him bugging me more than anything. When I hear him in other stuff, he's perfectly fine (EMH, Phineas & Ferb, Avengers Assemble, Agents of SMASH, the Lego shorts). None of the screaming or whining, etc.
