Yes.

Because he hates him and Spider-Man has defeated Loki on more than one occasion. The second time around he turned Spider-Man into Spider-Ham and tried to get Executioner to hunt him for a feast. That ended badly for Loki as well.

Season 3 has been fantastic so far. For all you raving continuity and character development maniacs, this show definitely plays that, though I don't expect haters to admit it.

I don't understand what this has to do with the question I asked?

Synopsis for the Vulture episode
A mysterious thief known as The Vulture has been causing trouble. Spider-Man decides to track him down, and discovers he's a young man who has trouble remembering his past.

He was replying to what I asked, mistakingly copied your question and replied to it like that

Any Irish or British Spidey fans here?

Have Disney XD over here been showing Season 3 out of order or even skipped showing a new episode in the last two weeks?

The Avenging Spider-Man two parter was on Sky Go and then nothing until The Vulture yesterday (I think).

I didn't it was showing over here and I caught the two parts of Avenging Spider-Man just before they expired - I was watching out for more to appear but I didn't see any new episodes until yesterday.

Disney XD showed season 3 episode 4 Return of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the US is my understanding. They missed the first three episodes of season 3 though which have already been shown in the UK.

Really they have being showing it in the uk for the past 5 weeks and a new one is this Saturday at 8.30 in the morning where spider-man teams up with wolverine to the savage land to recruit Kazar

I wish they would adapt more comic book story-lines. And less kiddy stuff

Just saw Cloak & Dagger episode
Don't have any memory of Danny wearing that in comics

I've only seen a few episodes of this show from each of the two seasons and since the first two seasons are available for instant streaming on Netflix, I decided to sit down and work my way through them. I just finished the first season and here's some thoughts:

Where is the responsibility with this version of Peter/Spider-Man? For instance, I really liked the convo at the end of the second episode between Spidey and Fury while in the elevator. Spider-Man says something to the effect of, he is just a solo guy and doesn't want to lead a bunch of newer heroes because he really isn't fit for the role. He says it would be irresponsible of him to put them all in danger like that. It was a very enjoyable moment. Then comes episode 3. Nova and Spidey are arguing and going back and forth about who is the better hero. They decide to look up SHIELD's #1 most wanted villain, DR. DOOM, and go fight him to see who would end up being the best hero. The feuding causes them to bring a DOOM cloned robot back to the SHIELD helicarrier where he proceeds to tear the place apart

The animation is really good. It's very easy to look at and the action movies fluidly although the character designs do seem a bit generic for the genre. Still enjoyable.

The epsiode "Freaky" has Spidey and Wolverine swapping minds just like they did in the USM comic. I liked this episode quite a bit. It was presented much better than the extremely goofy and stupid comic story. Spidey and Wolverine had to work together to defeat Sabertooth and the dynamic between the two worked very well and even had some genuinely funny moments. Watching Wolverine trying to web swing was a hoot. Good stuff.

What in the actual **** did they do to MJ? She's completely unrecognizable from her character in the comics in any iteration. She's not even remotely similar to her counterpart in the USM comics. And why is Disney so afraid of teenage hormones?? MJ in this series is an insult to the character.

I'm no Venom fan but the Venom episodes were horrible.

I like the idea of Ock being a paraplegic.

The final episode with Goblin was pretty good. And I liked how Aunt May, just like in the USM comic, ends up taking the superhero group under her roof.

On to season 2...

Nice to finally see your review
No special comments on the episodes "Awesome" and "For Your Eye Only"?

Thanks.

"Awesome" was a decent episode. The fights with Juggernaut were pretty cool but once again I found Peter's responsibility was lacking. He was late on a science project so he decides to steal that 'brick.' Why do that? He's always doing such irresponsible crap in this series. For another example in "Not a Toy," after sparring with Cap the team takes a break and Cap sets down his shield and says "you guys can pick it up if you'd like but don't throw it." So what does Spidey do? He picks it up says "hey catch" to Nova, I think, and throws it. Only it misses Nova widely and goes out the window of the Helicarrier and ends up in the Embassy of Dr Doom.

"For Your Eye Only." Not bad, I guess. It wasn't very memorable imo.

Spider-Man/Peter does irresponsible **** in the comics all the time. Like not getting medical insurance for his family.

Man-Spider nod to The Queen story is cool, I love that story
The bit with the consciousness is funny

Vulture is a mix of that Red Vulture, Clifton Shallot, and the one in Counter Earth from Spider-Man unlimited

Anyone watched the second Guardians of the Galaxy episode?

I started season 2 several days ago and here's some thoughts:

"The Lizard"

Thanks to the Helicarrier crash at the end of the final episode in season 1, Connors had to have his arm amputated. I was wondering how or if they were ever going to go that route with him. But now, he's lost that limb they could proceed with this story. I don't necessarily mind changes to the source material but here everything felt contrived. Connors has always been a biologist/geneticist so why turn him into some kind of a mechanical engineer? He's to Spidey as Q is to Bond. Always making his gadgets and what not. That really takes away from the Peter/Spider-Man character. Overall this episode was just ok. The team up with Ock was lame though and I thought the design on the Lizard wasn't very good.

"Electro"

Spidey's quips in this episode are some of the worst I've ever heard. I like how they first showed Electro in his star mask get-up from the 616 and then he changes into the solid blue design from USM. Another average episode though. And why is it, with the exception of the Lizard episode, that every final blow to Spider-Man's opponent is a slow-mo super strong face punch?? They don't show Spidey taking down his opponents in creative ways or using his intelligence to come up with how to take them down. Instead, it's "ok, time to end this," and BOOM, face punch. Enemy KO'd.

"Rhino"

This is a 'message to the kids' episode about bullying. It has a good message though. Flash is seen bullying a weak, smaller kid by the name of Alex. Peter and Luke notice this and attempt to resolve the situation. Alex becomes very angry after all the bullying and uses a special serum to turn himself into a giant Rhino-like monster and go after Flash for revenge. Spidey of course intervenes and saves the day. It was ok. I didn't see the need to totally change up one of Spidey's villains and again it comes off totally contrived. Different for the sake of being different.

"Kraven the Hunter"

Now, this was a pretty good episode. We get to see some history and development of Ava/White Tiger. Kraven is presented here in all of his badassness. The story was pretty good and the fight scenes were fun to watch. Spidey helping White Tiger to take down Kraven had some genuinely good moments and the end where they share a scene discussing the deaths of their father/Uncle was nicely done. Though it would have been nice to see them take things a bit further with Peter and Ava. There was a missed oppotunity to have them develop a romantic relationship or at least begin to show signs of caring for one another in a more loving manner. But no. For some reason Disney is against teenagers being together or having feelings like that...it's like teenage hormones don't exist. They had a nice opportunity to bring in that aspect here and do something original especially since they've completely neutered MJ. She even dresses like a boy.

"Hawkeye"

A team up with Spidey and Hawkeye against the Beetle. Spidey was a complete moron in this episode. Beetle is amazing though. I was kinda rooting for him to win during this one. It looked like he may have had a chance too until Hawkeye and Spidey do a tandem slow-mo face punch to take him out. Can't they think of anything better to show the villains being defeated?

"The Sinister Six"

This episode started off great. Ock uses Connors as bait to trick Spider-man into showing up at his underwater lab. Instead of showing up to help Connors with an experiment or something, Spidey encounters Ock, Rhino, Kraven, Beetle and Electro. Ock then transforms a tied up Connors into the Lizard. And there's your 6. I kind of like this line-up if I'm being honest. Spidey then makes an escape to the surface so he can call his team for help. What we're given is a battle between Ock's team and Spider-Man's team. It was boring and lame. The fights were so uncreative. At various points you have Ock and Spider-Man calling out orders to their respective teams to use to take down their opponent. It was painful to watch actually. Spidey kept yelling out for his team to use "combo moves!" Like, what the hell does that even mean? It was rather annoying. I never thought I would see the S6 make me bored.

He did use a tactic to overexert him and weaken him before the final KO

Disney is not against it, you can see it in their other shows
But I'm glad they don't take that route, romance in Spider-Man's life is pretty annoying, out of his former love with Black Cat and his marriage to MJ, romance is a contrived mess, and we see that "Oh no, I can't go with her, I'm Spider-Man" then "Spider-Man should not prevent me from being happy"

Bah, we already have that in 3 shows (if you count the MTV one), and it gets more irritating every time

But it's always a KO by slow-mo super strong face punch that ultimately brings down the enemy. We don't get to see Peter using his smarts to subdue the enemy/opponent in a creative way.

Exactly. So why not this one? And since this show is aimed/written for kids they'd have an opportunity to promote being in a healthy relationship--one that is based on mutual respect, honesty, loyalty and good communication. They could give kids a role model for the development of those ideals.

Peter Parker's love life is an essential part of his story and as a dedicated fan, Aziz, you know better.

They ruined MJ in this show. Aside from the red hair, green eyes, and her name, she bears no resemblance to the character in the comics, in any iteration. So, that's pretty much a dead end at this point.

But that's why I brought up the idea with Ava. She doesn't have to fit into that relationship role of "oh no I can't go out with her cause I'm Spider-Man," because she's a hero herself. He wouldn't have to hide his identity from her and vice versa--it would be something akin to Peter's relationship with Kitty in USM. It doesn't have to prevent Peter from being happy, it could end up amplifying it. And like I said, since they neutered MJ, this would have been a nice original twist on his mythos.

I know, doesn't mean I can't get fed up with most of it :csad:
Anyway, for personal reasons and religious beliefs, I am satisfied they don't give focus to his love life here

I like the recent decreased focus on Ava, not a fan of her

I understand what you mean. There's been bad adaptations of his love life in the past--comics, movies and animated shows are all guilty of this fault.

 Fair enough. We all have our own personal beliefs and morals/codes and what not, so I've no issue with you stating yours. If you find the lack of a 'love life' satisfying in this series based on your beliefs, then more power to you, my man.

You seem to be much more forgiving of certain issues with this series and you seem to enjoy it more than I do. I'm envious in a way. I wish I could like this show to that degree. There's definitely some very cool moments and some nice genuine ones sprinkled throughout, I just wish there was a greater amount of them. But that's part of why I am watching this show to completion. I want my critique to be accurate and I enjoy coming across those particular moments when they do occur.

I didn't like Ava very much up until the Kraven episode. There she was given some depth and I enjoyed the dynamic that she shared with Spidey/Peter. That's where I got the idea for them to be something 'more' and I still feel it would be a good way to bring about the relationship factor.

It is a Spider-Man show, I'm bound to enjoy it, regardless of what I don't like about it
And keep going with your reviews

I absolutely hated this show when I first saw it, I couldn't get past about episode 5 I think it was. I was eagerly awaiting its cancellation but it never came.

A couple years later and I've heard that season 3 has been an improvement...well I can honestly say this season is so much better and I've been enjoying it so far. I'm not 100% with the way some of the characters are portrayed e.g Vulture but this season so far has given me enough to enjoy to not let that bother me.

I can't wait to get to the Spider-verse episodes, that is what got me interested in season 3 the most.

I've seen a few episodes here and there and while it's not even close to the greatness of some of the other shows, I don't hate it. I haven't watched in awhile though, but I'm planning on jumping back in for the new season premiering soon in the US.
