Still too soon to be absolutely certain.
And it's not the studio officially announcing it.

Yeah true but everything this last season screams finale and the fact that Marvel likes to do things in house they would depart from Film Roman so there is that possibility.

I guess they will move to a new studio?
Looks to me like they are planning for a new season, or a spin-off show for the Thunderbolts+New Warriors

Or they are doing another Spider-Man show but based on the Ultimate Spider-Man continuity with Greg Weisman as a producer and story editor.

How would you feel if the team that did Spectacular Spider-Man worked on this show and call it The Ultimate Spider-Man as he leaves S.H.I.E.L.D and goes back solo?

I don't know how I'd feel about it.

Yeah, I'd be on the fence about that too. It'd be like Christopher Nolan being brought on for a direct sequel to Batman & Robin.

If it's true that USM has been cancelled, that's very good news and there's hope for a better series to come along.

Well if you look at what is happening it kind of makes sense that it's the last season cause the have shown many episode in the UK and different European countries before the States which is what happened to Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Most of you won't like it, so you probably don't want to watch this clip.

... I couldn't resist takin' a look and you're RIGHT...

it's s**t like THIS that makes me ECSTATIC that the show is finally done and DEAD...

This show is crap and that is just another piece of evidence to throw on the pile of why this show is such garbage.

I'm more than happy the show is getting the boot, finally. Let's hope the next one has some decent writing and talent behind it.

If it's true and the show's finished, I'm glad.

Add to this that Greg Weisman has left Star Wars: Rebels and it gets me hopeful.....

Copy and pasting my thoughts posted on another forum on the cancellation lol:

I really hope the next Spider-Man show is good. This show has been mostly murky and took itself way too long to get to a decent level. And just now, it's only gotten consistently decent! Settling for such slouchy storytelling like this is really disappointing.

I watched all of Spider-Verse and it could have been so much better than it was, as it stands... just decent fun. But as a big fan of characters like Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Girl, even Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Ham- it really is a letdown to see such watered-down versions of them. And I was expecting it, but that didn't make it any better. Miles Morales was really well-done in his segment, though. A real standout moment or two, even.

If it's true and the show's finished, I'm glad.

Greg Weisman's left Star Wars: Rebels? :wow:

Bitter Spectacular Spider-Man fans celebrating after the show became an even bigger hit, got a third season and 78 episodes...so I mean...whatever.

I personally am glad this show is nearing the end of its run because in my opinion, it has not lived up to what it could have been at all. I believe they could have approached it with a lot more intelligence and they would have had a show that would have been something both for the young kids and the established fans. The best shows in this realm are able to do that.

It shouldn't be hard with Spider-Man, either- he's already a great character and he doesn't need this reinvention idea that they approached this series with. One of the things going into this they've said is that they were making this Spider-Man as if he was just being introduced today for kids today. It just felt watered down from there because Spider-Man doesn't need to be re imagined as a bare bones Man of Action style protagonist for kids to like him. I guess what I'm saying is that it was the easy way option to take.

Regardless the show has had a good run and was a big success, after a miniscule amount of haters were crowing for cancellation and a return of Spectacular, which is impossible.

I'm not sure more intelligence means. What you believe is the best is still opinion at the end of the day. What not an opinion is that this show is a success and is the longest running animated Spider-Man show of all time.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Was Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Had Peter Parker's backstory. Got his powers from a radioactive spider as a teen. Lives with his Aunt May. Haunted by the death of his Uncle Ben. Believes in with great power comes great responsibility.

That's the Spider-Man they made a show about. It wasn't Miguel O'Hara. It wasn't Miles Morales. It wasn't Super Spider-Man. It was the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker. I'm not seeing how they reinvented the character. They took the classic character with the classic backstory and put him a situation where he trains with SHIELD and gets a team of heroes. That's hardly what I would call a reinvention.

and that's what makes it even MORE disgraceful... longevity or success in Disney's eyes doesn't necessarily equate with quality or greatness... and the latter two doesn't apply to THIS show in the least...

This is wrong, though. It's only gone for two years. Spider-Man TAS went for 4.

unfortunately, USM has 78 episodes while TAS has 65 and SSM has 26... how bulls**t is THAT?!?

Was I disappointed in the news that TSSM was being cancelled? Absolutely. However, I was still looking forward to this show. And it does make sense that Disney would want to make their own show, rather than continue on a show they didn't create. Plus, there's the whole rights issue but that's another story.

I wanted USM to succeed. I wanted it to be better than TSSM. I am a Spidey fan first and foremost and no matter what we're talking about--movies, video games, tv shows, comics, etc., I always want the new version to outdo the old. I want to see a progression in quality that keeps going higher. Unfortunately, USM failed to deliver on that hope and instead it took a complete step in the other direction. It sucks because the show had the potential to be great but it was wasted. I gave USM a fair shot--I've seen every episode with the exception of a few from the most recent season. My reviews of the show that I've written so far make no mention of any other Spider-Man shows. I rate and review the series on its own merits or lack thereof in this case.

I'll always love TSSM. But I certainly think and would like to see another Spidey show come along and be an improvement. It'll be difficult to do, but it's not impossible. With a cancellation of USM, my hope is renewed once again.
