Yeah, but again, you're avoiding the entire picture. It wasn't just an insensitive slur he uttered that everyone blew out of proportion; he was simulating sex with a baseball bat (which is...just weird all by itself) and going on with gay slurs, then said the baseball park was not a place for '****ing children', all in front of children. It's not comparable to getting a little angry and calling your cat a ****** (though why you're calling your cat that is pretty...weird). And it doesn't matter if fans are doing it; the guy is in the spotlight and obviously people are going to have eyes on him.

I mean, honestly, if this had been aimed at black guys and he said, 'Why are you n*****rs here!? Are you a n****er duo come to sing for us!?', then simulate fierce chicken eating with his bat would you still take this super apologetic 'he's just a product of his time, guys' stance? I can admit firing is probably too harsh, but this guy deserves all the heat he gets for this kind of stuff.

Aside from the letters outside the double G's, those words have remarkably little in common (though they also only have 6 letters each). N is a true slur, and as such has a long storied history of being used exclusively against the minority group it targets. F is a very different word, and has non-slur usage, and has for a long time been used regardless of context involving the minority group it is closely tied to.

Anyway, sexuality and skin color do not equate to each other and really shouldn't be compared. One is a physical characteristic that is a constant unchanging part of you, the other is a behavioural one that you can willingly and consciously hide and change. It's like apples and hippopotami.

Also, words don't hurt, so stop acting like they do.

pretty sure she tried to get some kind of response or why else the timing? At least some kind of Christian group releasing a statement.

I think she is one of the greatest performers of this generation personally

I will always be on her side

Of course, because you're already brainwashed. Also, I don't mean to be a jerk or ******* but you seem to support everything and anything that is pro homosexuality or runs in that same area of interest to you. This goes back to you thinking liberal politics in comic books is :awesome:-sauce.

Well, I didn't notice because I don't follow Lady Gaga, but what is your point? I don't even think releasing a single called Judas on Easter is even all that offensive, unless it was specifically about how awesome Judas was for killing Jesus or some ****.

Go read the lyrics to that song and tell me she wasn't trying to be controversial.

In the context it was used, it was obviously comparable. Saying otherwise is pretty much ********.

:whatever:

Roll your eyes all you want, but people either need to grow a thicker skin or die.

i pointed that out a few times and i was treated like i was attacking her or i was committing a hate crime. don't waste your time

Honestly, after looking up the lyrics, not particularly, unless you're a super fundamentalist or something who can't see anything but the Judas aspect; it's obviously about a girl who can't stop seeing a guy whose cheating on her or something poppy thing like that. I don't know, maybe she was (I don't really follow her), but there doesn't seem to be anything I would consider all that offensive.

Roll your eyes all you want, but people either need to grow a thicker skin or die.

I was rolling my eyes at your silliness in even saying that to begin with, like it means anything in this conversation.

It means everything to this conversation. We are talking about people being offended by what someone said, right?

That's because liberal politics in comic books, like literature IS :awesome:-sauce. Imagine "A Christmas Carol" written like "Atlas Shrugged".

It would suck.

And then there's The Ultimates.

The Gentleman is dead. Long live the Rooster Sucker!

EDIT -- I typed the word but I guess it's an infraction trap. No censor.

This a thousand times, if you can't stand some people here either don't bother arguing or just use the ignore feature.

Oh old Tron. It's obvious to almost everyone she was trying to create some sort of controversy releasing a song called Judas during Easter week. I thought I was stubborn, but come on, it's so obvious.

There was actually a controversy about an anti-religion song? For real? People have been smearing the s*** out of all kinds of religions in music for decades now. Sometimes in pretty good songs, too. I thought we were pretty much past people giving a s*** about that kind of thing.

Only some news outlets picked up on it, there was maybe a few blog posts but at the end of the day even Gaga fans didn't like the song that much.

Luckily I work for Playgirl where that sort of thing doesn't offend my boss who has the right to hire or fire whoever the **** he wants.

Well, I did say that 'maybe she was', just that I didn't find anything offensive about it personally. I mean, honestly, I didn't even know of this song's existence until just now; I don't follow Lady Gaga or any attempts of her's to stir controversy.

And which undertones are those?

Hey, I like Lenny Bruce, too, but we all know better than that I'm pretty sure.

just to point out, i don't hate her but i'm the kind of guy who points out some one just took a **** in their pants if i smell it.

no, that's the thing there was like zero controversy. i'm just saying she tried and failed...hard
