Hence why I said you're looking way too much into the story. I saw it basically as a gesture of Superman progressing from the old dated and hallowed 'American Way' into a globalized mindset. It's not a 'F you 'Merica', it's basically just discarding the out dated nationalism that's died in most of the Western world outside here. And...that's all. It's not even a new thing, since I think Supes has been a global hero for awhile, just an acknowledgement of it.
But you don't have to make this grand gesture of going in front of the world and announcing that you're renouncing your US Citizenship because you want to be a global hero. George Clooney didn't have to renounce his citizenship to help kids in Africa did he?![]()
You see, though, you're just dissecting it to the most nitpicking you. I don't even think he was trying to inject all that much realism and politics into it (though, he should have toned down the Iran stuff probably), but it was more social in nature. I mean, sure, it's undeniable that there is a certain political dimension to it, but like I said, I took as just a symbolic examination of that aspect of Superman, and I really just don't see the need to address all of this stuff, because it's simply not all that relevant to the real heart of the issue. Also, when he's being a global hero and helping our Iran or whatever he wants, is he going to stick around to make sure everything is ok and going down smoothly? No. He's gonna call on the UN, and when the UN fails those damn Yankees will come marching in with their $10 a text donations and military power. When you inject realism in comics David Goyer, you just can't forget the parts that contradict your views.
Me, too. My Eagle just flies with a hammer in one talon and a sickle in the other.USA! USA! USA!
IAMERICA!
Yeah, well, George Clooney also lives in France

Well, fair enough, it still didn't really bother me any on those fronts. I'm surprised Fox News didn't pick up on it, though, guess the royal wedding is more important.
Or that tornado that tore up Alabama...probably the royal wedding for most media, though.
The Drums, okay. What's a good song to gauge them, or are they one of those bands that tend to be all over the place
