Yeah but Time Machine taken by itself is just a terrible, terrible movie. Whereas by comparison, Starship Troopers taken by itself is a great terrible movie.

Anyone read Blackest Night Flash #3? Owen's turned into quite a dick.

I'm not sure how that necessarily saves it from being a crappy adaptation.
Nothing saves it from being a crappy adaptation. But that doesn't mean it's not a hilariously fun movie.

Unlike Watchmen... which was horrible both ways.

eh, I didn't think it was horrid

my favorite book to film adaptation to date is "The Hunt for Red October"

Clooney makes enough good non-comic movies that I've long since forgiven him for Batman and Robin. Schumacher's still on the hook for it, though. Maybe O'Donnell, too. :o

Anyway, I'm watching Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles because it showed up to stream on Netflix. I used to watch it in its crazy early morning time slot when it was on TV and it actually holds up after all those years. If you can get past the fairly primitive (but still pretty good in some places) CG animation, it's a nice blend of the Starship Troopers movie and Heinlein's novel--by which I mean it took some character dynamics from the movie (i.e. Dizzy's a chick) and pretty much everything else from the novel, which was actually good. The propaganda bits are fun and the rest of the show is like a sci fi version of a WWII film.

I still can't believe she went on to be Babs in the BIRDS OF PREY show.

Yeah, that was weird. She had a guest appearance on Burn Notice last season too, which was actually quite good.

Never liked him in the first place, so I was glad to see him die. Dumb f***. :o

I keep trying to like Burn Notice, but I just don't really care for realistic action shows.

I can't stand Dina Meyer

She's hot. :o

I think she's hot and has pretty boobs. That's one of the things I remember enjoying in Starship Troopers. :awesome:

I didn't get it because I don't watch CSI: Miami (or any CSI show). Someone in the Burn Notice thread mentioned it and I was like, "Ooooooooh, that's what he was doing."

Between that and Psych's constant mockery of The Mentalist, it seems like the people at USA love poking fun at other shows. :)

Darth, you were right. You were right.

Wow, I have like 400 things on both of my queues. Browsing Netflix is like an illness for me. :csad:
