I've read a few issues.

I've always wondered why she never took the mantel up at some point after Mar-Vel died.

I mean, isn't she actually a Captain?
no, she was colonel, then she retired so she has no rank

Yeah, well, at least she actually was a Captain at some point......colonel is after Captain right? Who cares! :argh:

colonel is significantly after captain. infact, that she made colonel puts her in the mid-late 40's ballpark at best.

Except she's 30 at most. Guess she slept wi...I mean, was fast tracked by the right people. :o

exactly. comicbook chronology makes no sense.

also, i'd put her at 33-35

That works. Still, it would mean she made Colonel in her 20's. She's been a Super hero for a long time. Relatively speaking. We're talking 8 to 10 years.

yep, which is impossible. but comic book writters don't really seem to understand how rank works since she and rhodey are both really young colonels but stevesie is an almost century old captain.

To be fair, Stevesie spent most of his near century with frosty nuts. :o

He'd be a 5 star general by now if he hadn't bought a time share in an iceberg.

Either that or you know, dead.

he'd have made 4 stars by vietnam, but no one has gotten 5 in over 60 years

Dude, we're talking about Steve F**king Rogers.

They'd invent a sixth star just for him. :o

I don't think they've even remotely scratched the surface of that concept yet.

i think there's more they can do with it, but for the most part it just ends up being a power upgrade with a "i don't want to be nick fury" complex imo

Was Captain America ever actually a captain

I mean he got his superpowers right after he joined the army and since then he's been a superhero. So technically was he really a captain

These are the important questions

Is he still the director of SHIELD right now

depends on who's telling the story. sometimes he was a straight up captain, sometimes he was a captain disguised as a corporal, and some times he was just a corporal.

F*** Ms. Marvel. It makes sense for her to take over as Captain Marvel, but I still hate her for being made of suck. Genis-Vell should've come back instead. :o

He was never technically the director of SHIELD. SHIELD was defunct when he took over the "top cop" position and, rather than restarting it, Cap decided to just expand the Avengers and have them deal with everything.

SHIELD later got restarted independently from Dum Dum and Gabriel Jones' Howling Commandos PMC and the remnants of Fury's Caterpillar program with Daisy Johnson as its new director. Although she hasn't really done much since. I think Cap still outranks her too, since he basically drafted her into the Avengers recently.

And now Marcus Johnson is set to replace Nick Fury himself because he's black and the movies exist. Not sure whether he'll take over SHIELD as well, but it would probably be a fairly safe bet.

Hey Corpulent,

Brian Wood is gonna write Ultimate X-Men, you love Brian Wood. :p :P :p

Not enough to read an Ultimate series. Not even that much in general lately, to be honest. I lost interest in DMZ a while ago and dropped it, and I'm like three months behind on Northlanders.

You should check out Conan the Barbarian. 2 issues in and it's pretty fun stuff. Art is the highlight and the writing's good and well very "Conan" so to speak.

Eh. I still gotta read through Busiek's Conan series someday. I only read the first couple arcs and told myself I'd pick up the trades later. Never did.

It occurred to me, 3 seasons in, that Supernatural might be a little racist. Every black person on the show has turned out to be a dick, gotten killed, or both. :wow:

Star Sapphire, Saint Walker having an awesome monk inspired design & Thanagarians appearing on this show? Sweetness.

Those wacky Thanagarians

Flying through space doing bird stuff and pecking peoples faces

Why no love for Ms Marvel Corp

Really?

What's Fury up to then or has he been killed off now
