Who do you think will be the main antagonist(s) in TASM2?

  • Doctor Octopus

  • The Vulture

  • Mysterio

  • The Chameleon

  • Kraven

  • Venom

  • Harry (again -_-)

  • Norman Osborn

They need to pull back on the reins. Have one main villain and make a solid story that ties all threads together. Maybe introduce a couple of characters and continue to build on the ones already present without taking away from the main story line.

IMO, if they push for the S6 in the next film. It will be a disaster. They could barely hold a movie together with 2 villains, storywise, how are they going to now add two or three more and capitalize on the S6 in one movie?? I can't see how that works and turns out well. Cause if they plan on giving us both Vulture and Doc Ock as part of that team, both those guys, especially Ock deserve a treatment of having a longer introduction.

Unless of course they were to release this movie in 2017 and continue with the spin-off of the S6 to release in 2016--this way they could introduce those characters in a film prior to ASM3.

I kinda want Gobby and Mysterio. I feel like Goblin will be wasted if he doesn't get more screen time and would be great physically while battling Mysterio mentally.

All this love for Mysterio is heartwarming :applaud
I salute everyone who named my second favorite Spidey villain

My favorite is Scorpion

It's Vulture and Doctor Octopus why else would they hint at them in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Scorpion is definitely a villain who'd be great to see!

I have always said 2 villians should be the limit I think you need to have a really good plot if you want 3 villians

I think you could have multiple villains like the S6 , as long as the go the Brotherhood of Mutants/X men and even Bond films route, i.e., no origin stories. They exist as is ala the Nolan films.

To be honest with you I'd prefer that as opposed to the Raimi/Burton/Schumacer style of knowing every damn persons back story. I really could care less about Mysterio, Scorpions, Sandman, Vulture etc, backstories and origins. With the exception of the Osborns, Venom, Lizard, and Doc Ock, you really don't need in depth back stories which take away time from our hero.

If anything the origin/back story in these films is a product of hiring high profile actors in the roles , and as a result, you have to devote more screen time to them.

I think who, or whom ever the villain(s) are they have to fit whatever story they want to tell , and ultimately Peter Parker has to be the driving force.

Harry should be a villain in a master planner sense.

Not gonna lie, Scorpion was only interesting when he was Venom.

I want Mysterio. Will it happen? Unlikely.

-I'd say this film will probably involve Harry gathering the Sinister 6 together for the S6 movie. It would be nice to see Mysterio get a highlight, though if Peter is using the symbiote too in this movie, that would lead to a very messed up Spider-mind.

Indeed

Not gonna lie, Scorpion was only interesting when he was Venom.
As Venom, he was an improvement to Eddie
But seriously, Scorpion is under utilized, Stan Lee made him justice, the only other writer to not make a complete joke out of him after Gerry Conway is that writer who did Spider-Man Unlimited v1 #22

Scorpion would be cool. So would kraven honestly. And Mysterio is also really good. I am for any one of those villains...

just not all 3...

in the same movie

They teased Ock and Vulture in TASM 2, but Mysterio has the most votes?

Perplexing. Did I missing something in the 2nd movie that strongly hinted Mysterio will be the next villain?

I think most people are voting on who they would like to see, Instead of who they think it'll be.

I think if they ever use Doc Ock again, Paul Dano would be an interesting choice.

I think it will be mysterio but I don't like mysterio he is one of the worst spider man villians there is.

^ :lmao: my thoughts exactly! we think alike :) he can't even fight Spidey. but believe me with an awesome redesign and and a great actor, they can make him a badass!

If dock ock appears how do youu want him to look, like lab coat no lab coat?

I think people are pushing for Mysterio as it would make the most sense with how the last film ended. Webb has already said TASM3 will focus on PP's recovery, naturally you want a villian that can hinder that recovery, it makes the villians motivations/the plot feel less contrived as the goals of the antag/protag intertwine and contradict each other, you get natural tension, and something that doesn't feel as forced as say, youuuuuu'rrreeeeee a frraaaauuuud

Now I see Webb as a director that does the more human stuff better, which is why a villian that you could potentially steer towards more of a psychological conflict seems appealing to me.

Plus for the Sony execs, he has great visual potential, so they can still sell the film visually, Kraven would be hard to sell in a trailer, and some might see it as a Tarzan vs. Spider-Man spinoff to compete with Superman vs. Batman.

I agree with this, but the only problem is they're trying to build up the Sinister six.

I may be wrong, but it seems Sony is stuck between a rock and a hard place, because in TASM 2 they were really forshadowing the Sinister six, and the post credits scene was obviously meant to show that. Doc ock, Vulture, Rhino, and what ever that thing in the mist was (going to assume Green goblin) was going to appear in TASM 3, paul giamatti even said he had a bigger role in 3, i think (not sure) TASM 3 was meant to set up Sinister six, but wouldn't making TASM 3 soley a Spiderman film throw away all the plans they had? i guess Sony was over confident.
