The odd thing is GotG just did that with Star Lord...not skates, but rocket boots none the less.
I think she's gotten plenty of chances, she merely a decent actress who is charming in the right role not anything special, which is fine.Im not 100% sure about Kunis. I do think she's good. I just dont think she has gotten a chance to really show what she can do.
Kunis just isn't a good actress. She can pull off certain roles in comedies pretty well, but she has no range whatsoever.I agree that Jupiter is a rather thin character but that's where charismatic movie star skills come in. Kunis unfortunately doesn't have that it factor, she doesn't hold your interest enough as an actress. I could see say Emma Stone absolutely keeping your attention and killing it in the film but Kunis is not that kind of actress. She's the girlfriend and the best friend.
Directors devolving into worst filmmakers does happen quite a bit. Not everyone can be Scorsese. But I still take each film on its own.

I hope you get as much amusement out of it as I did.

I definitely would not classify her as a good actress. I think Tatum was miscast as well but he came out of the film looking better than Kunis.Kunis just isn't a good actress. She can pull off certain roles in comedies pretty well, but she has no range whatsoever.
Star-Lord uses his rocket boots sparingly, and does so for both badass and comedic effect. The odd thing is GotG just did that with Star Lord...not skates, but rocket boots none the less.
I agree that the root of the issue was the poor incredibly sexist writing for Jupiter but I still would have been more entertained if the actress were better. No amount of charismatic acting could help how useless of a character Jupiter was. Its not just that she was thin in personality but was mostly just shuffled around. When finally given opportunities to do anything, they wrote her to still just wait around and be saved.
Scorsese is my idol. He hasn't made a film I haven't liked, and made around 10 of my top 50. "The Departed" is great, though "Hugo" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" are his two films since Casino that are truly stunning imo.Probably not a popular opinion, but I think Scorsese's getting better.
The Departed and The Wolf of Wall Street are probably in my top 20 favorite films ever.

Tatum has potential. After I still haven't seen Foxcatcher, but his work in the Jump Street films makes me think he could evolve into a very capable actor. A lot like Brad Pitt really.I definitely would not classify her as a good actress. I think Tatum was miscast as well but he came out of the film looking better than Kunis.

Which is exactly why so many are lenient with her performances imo. But after Oz, I just can't take her seriously. That is easily on of the worst performances I can remember from the last half a decade or so. In a movie I really like.I liked her in Black Swan and I also want to date her. Unfortunately here it seems she was miscast. I still want to see this tommorrow , but I think we can all agree The Matrix was a fluke.
Amazing, isn't it?![]()
This reminds me of Vaughn ditching a scene from First Class because Inception basically did it.I'm more surprised by the fact that Jupiter Ascending still kept the concept. The amount of generic Sci-fi movies are all busy blurring together.
This man tells the truth. You are in for some boring political shenanigans and poor editing. This is a movie that just cuts around so you have to make assumptions about how certain fight scenes end or just guess that people change their minds and let their hostages go without much explanation...
but then spends 5 or more minutes showing the ins and outs of space bureaucracy.

So it is the Phantom Menace. Is there a Darth Maul and random Keira Knigthley cameo? If so, I might actually like it.This is a movie that just cuts around so you have to make assumptions about how certain fight scenes end or just guess that people change their minds and let their hostages go without much explanation...

Oh, I love it. If it was terrible, I probably would enjoy it just for Rachel Weisz and her performance. That it ended up being pretty darn good was a real treat. I still can't believe how emotional I get over China Girl's scenes. Still, I will never get the decision to cast Kunis. Especially considering just how good the rest of the casting is. Apparently Keira Knightley tested for Evanora. How easily would it have been to cast Weisz and Keira as sisters instead? This man tells the truth. So happy to see my guy Darth give some love to Oz.![]()
