If he were the one to do it they would just have him and Shane be in diff shots. The two times they have shot kids, the kid and the shooter were never in the same frame. One of the producers mentioned this on the talking dead.

That would work out even better. The camera's on Shane when you hear the gunshot and see him get hit, then it cuts to Carl holding the gun.

I dont see how anyone can be on Team Rick. That guy is constantly making decisions that puts everyone needlessly in danger. His stupid wife not only made a decision that put her and her kid at risk (and anyone who came looking for her) she didnt even bother to look where she was driving. Besides, Rick is a hypocrite. He spent the entire first half of the season begging to stay on the farm, and then killed the first guys who asked to join them. He is thinking ONLY of his family. Shane is weighing the positives and negatives and making the hard choices to keep the human race going.

Because inviting two obviously shady men onto their farm after already pissing off Hershel is a great idea. Yeah, real hypocrite right there. :whatever:

Who said that Shane would have invited them? Shane likely would have killed them instantly. In fact, Shane never would have gone after the old man.

I'm talking about Rick. Rick not inviting them is far from hypocritical. Killing them right off the bat was the correct thing to do.

It's hypocritical because Rick's argument for the first half of the season has been "we'll die if we leave"...and yet he...like a second rate god...decided that some other people weren't worthy of survival.

Shane has proven that he does what is best for the community at large. If a life is to be at risk, he volunteers...and when the risk outweighs the reward, he lets people die.

Shane is, quite frankly, a selfish bastard. He only solves problems if they involve Lori, which they often do. He's not a good leader, he's a danger to all around him.

Those two guys clearly told Rick that they had a larger group with whom they could readily survive and then proceeded to draw their weapons on him. It was obvious that they already had shelter, hence the shadiness.

They were traveling...if they had shelter they wouldnt have been willing to kill to get shelter.

I agree with Rick's decision to kill them. I also agree with his decision to not allow them to stay at the farm (unless they had something to offer the group). My issue is that he had no idea what they had to offer the group, and simply didn't want more people at the farm...which is the exact thing he chastised Herschel for.

I don't see Shane as selfish. He only has to keep saving Lori because she keeps putting herself in danger for no reason.

to me it looks like the actor playing Carl has started his growth spurt he looked/seemed older in tonight's episode

Eh, it was kind of obvious that they weren't going to be able to offer anything and that they were likely going to try to take advantage of/try to overpower the group.

And yeah, Lori's an idiot, but Shane is still selfish. If the problem doesn't directly involve her in some way, he isn't getting involved.

The thing is, they have a group of people...and we know that people just come together as they meet. They could have a doctor or an expert gardener or something. I guess it was implied that they didn't have women (necessary to the continuation of the species, especially considering how stupid most of the few left seem to be).

Yes, Shane is willing to risk his life for Lori, her unborn baby, and the young boy/future of the species. Shane also took time to teach the entire group how to shoot. He also helped search for Sophia until it became clear that so much was being put at risk, and she was likely not going to be found. you're right though...in general Shane doesn't go off on a million silly missions...he just stays with the camp and protects the group.

Humans in this world can't be trusted.

Yeah, killing Otis was a great way of protecting the group. :o

Amazing episode. Rick looked like a stone cold killer at the end.

Killing Otis was the EXACT right thing to do for the survival of the species!

1. Both were going to die, unless one was sacrificed to slow the zombies down.
2. By sacrificing Otis, Shane saved himself and saved Carl...AND brought medicine to the group. You have a young boy and a fit adult who is a trained gunman surviving with one guy being dead, when the only other option was the guy being dead, the trained gunman being dead and the boy being dead.

So yeah...saving lives and bringing medicine to the group helped continue the species better than no medicine and more dead people would.

i was thinkin the same thing when i was watchin too! carl seemed older!

the two pictures have nothing to do with the sneak peek. I was hoping a Shane and Rick scene

It's not supposed to (just posting the new stuff from AMCtv's website), That Shane/Rick clip was shown during Talking Dead. :cwink:

Fixed. :o

I really don't get how an obvious psychotic gets hero worship around here.

It's just the world we live in look at most of the real life people others trust and hero worship...they aren't much different than Shane.

Because those who love the character look at the **** he does in the context of a zombie apocalypse and go "Oh, I would totally do that, in that situation. Dat is so me!", when in reality, they would probably be the Otis in these situations.

Captain America wouldn't have left Otis.

On a serious note. It's almost hard for me to agree with what Shane is doing. I know to the group, it looks like he's done more than Rick, but on the other hand we know what he's doing is for his own selfish reasons. And for those on here who are siding with Shane and haven't read the comic, you have to see that Shane will try to kill Rick again. It's pretty much leading up to those two having some battle. I don't know how you can side with a man who will kill his best friend just to get some puss puss.

I just finished watching episode 9, and boy, I can't wait until this season is over with and season 3 can start. There's tons of drama and friction on the show, but virtually no suspense, or action, except maybe in a couple of episodes, and in isolated pockets.

They were traveling...if they had shelter they wouldnt have been willing to kill to get shelter.

The issue had more to do with their demeanor than what they were asking for.
