Yeah, I didn't personally mind the pacing. I don't think this finale needed to be 90 minutes, though, and feel some of the Carol/Morgan stuff could have been trimmed, but generally speaking, it felt about the same pace as most episodes.

I LOVED the season finale ... Until that final part, that is. I'm still admittedly ******** about it. My hype for the new season isn't really strong right now because of it. I'll watch it, of course, but I'm not counting down the days until the premiere or anything.

I agree with The Joker: To one who got Lucille'd had better be a character we care about, and not some secondary person (cough cough Aaron).

That is my main fear. That they'd take someone like Aaron, who admittedly is a good character, since he hasn't been around long enough. But given his role in the comic- not that it means anything since Andrea and Sophia alive there, but not in the show- I think he'd be kept around. But yeah, just for damage control's sake, the show would build up all that tension, only to later reveal it was someone who we don't have as deep an attachment to as one of the main characters or one of the remaining Atlanta five survivors.

Apart from anything else Negan killing someone with Lucille is one of the biggest moments in the comics. If they screw that up by making it someone nobody cares about, well to do that on top of keeping people waiting for months to see who it was would be the ultimate screw up.

Well they already tainted that moment from the comic with that cliffhanger. I doubt they could make up for it. The sad thing is the cliffhanger has been overshadowing season 7 so far. That's all that's being hyped up on these AMC promos. A moment that'll take place during first 5 minutes (I assume) of the S7 premiere? And they're using that as a crutch to market S7. :whatever:

I feel bad for the cast in the lineup and (particularly the Lucille victim(s)) who had to promote S7 at Comic Con this year. They can't say much about this season b/c that person will be killed off a few minutes into the season 7 premiere and haven't any idea what's in store for fans season. Plus they have to be very cryptic without revealing if their character's dead or not anyway. Some of these actors are forced to keep up their character's appearances (until Oct 23 I assume) or keep themselves sheltered and away from social media (in case an actor gets a shave or a haircut) until then so nobody would figure out they're dead. And they're already halfway through filming Season 7. :whatever: That reminds me of when Steven Yeun mentioned on TD that he couldn't go out in public until that dumpster fiasco last season blew over. That's BS that AMC put the actors through that. Nonsense like that could also cost actors movie projects b/c they have to keep up their character's appearance when this other film/TV show doesn't call for it. I remember Michael Rosenbaum (Luthor from Smallville) mentioned in some interview that he had a hard time getting roles during hiatuses b/c he had to keep the bald look for the show. Bet it's a pain for whoever was Lucille'd to be dealing with a similar predicament since that person could easily get a makeover but can't b/c the cliffhanger hasn't been resolved yet.

AMC, Gimple & co. wouldn't be in this mess if they had revealed who got Lucille'd in the finale. And it would've saved the cast and TPTB a whole lot of stress and trouble. We as viewers would be anticipating what's in store for us this upcoming season and how Rick & co. will cope with the death(s). AMC deserve the backlash their getting from the cliffhanger, imo.

Like I mentioned a couple posts ago I'm over the cliffhanger but I'm tired of it being the main focus iof anything related to Season 7. I'm more interested in the backstory behind Negan and the Saviors, Carol and Morgan's arc, Ezekiel and the Kingdom, Jesus and the Hilltop community, Tara and Heath's mysterious adventure, and what's in store for Rick and co. after the Lucille debacle has concluded.

They have already screwed it up. Said it before... it doesn't even matter who it is anymore.

Well that's a little melodramatic, but okay.

That may be the case for you, but according to the TWD actors who have all said they've been constantly fending off questions in public about Lucille's victim, interest in the S7 premiere is white hot.

It's already leaked who died anyway. I, for one am no longer interested. I hope the ratings take a dip for what they did but that's doubtful.

I don't even want to know how you came up with that allegation, but if this season's premiere is in the same neighborhood of total viewers that the last 3 premieres have had, that will put the "it doesn't matter" assertion down for the count.

I guess you forgot all the ******** the cast spit out building up the finale.

that F-bomb dropping Negan cut though :wow:

I'm surprised that no one has revealed who got killed yet. I thought it would've been leaked by now.

It is? Missed that. I had to Google it and found a "source" that claimed to know but it was far from a real confirmation and more a set of this is why it was [x] who died affirmations that reinforce the theory it was [blackout]Abraham[/blackout] but don't out right confirm it.

I'm pretty sure that whatever was leaked is true. Just a gut feeling that the site wasn't making it up.

I agree it is probably true however it is not definitely true. It makes sense because the show wants to sacrifice a big name but not too big of a name. I guess we won't know without a doubt until the episode airs so that is the best we might get short of someone leaking screenshots.

Well, [blackout]from what I've read its two people getting off'd. The first one being the whatever kill off and the second one being the shocked kill off.[/blackout]

I'm gonna be honest here, a lot of the disappointment I had about the cliffhanger is washing away listening to Negan's uncensored monologue.

Watch AMC make the season 7 premier be about Carol and Morgan so we have to wait until the following Sunday to find out the answer to the cliff hanger. AMC has been known to stretch these things out in the past.

Oh, I bet we won't find out who got the bat until 5 episodes in or something. They're going to milk this. :funny:

Queue in the Kingdom Story Arc and Negan's "origin" episodes before we get any real answers.

They wouldn't dare make the victim someone as insignificant as Aaron. After the wait we've had fans will be baying for an important character's blood to make it all worthwhile.

I would laugh forever if some redshirt like Aaron were the one to buy it, though, so I kinda hope it happens.

Unless AMC want to continue ticking fans off as well as lose more viewers then they're not going to milk that cliffhanger. And they won't b/c EP Greg Nicotero, who directed the S7 premiere, mentioned that the Lucille victim will be revealed in ep. 7.1., which will continue where the cliffhanger left off.
