The Walking Dead "The Walking Dead" General Stuff & Thaaaangs Thread - - - - Part 13

So I haven't read the comics in years; how much has the show adapted so far? Are there still a lot more Rick events to come that now will never happen?

Possibly? I mean, a lot of Rick's stuff could easily be remixed with another character, kind of like how Sasha pretty much became comic Andrea, but a lot of the new antagonist stuff would probably just be passed from Rick to someone else, same with the Negan stuff. It wouldn't have the same impact, but the show's cherry picked comic moments and giving them to other characters, like Hershel on the show getting comic Tyreese's death. And the show's trying its damnedest to set up Henry as this killer kid, so I wouldn't be surprised if he took on some of comic Carl's stuff, same way that Enid is pretty much filling the role of comic Sophia.

The biggest impact, I feel, is sort of already lost because the show doesn't have comic Andrea for a certain moment later, but since we've got Michonne taking her place, the moment I'm thinking of probably wouldn't have the same resonance if Rick isn't around for it. Unless the show gives said moment to Rick and that ends up being his send-off instead.

Just f**k this show....

Ever since Gimple was the showrunner....it has been a disappointment.

Losing Lincoln is going to be disappointing, but you can't fault anyone who's done something for 9 years of their life for wanting a change.

Unfortunately, the show screwed itself narratively speaking by killing off Carl, who was being groomed to be Rick's logical successor as he came of age.

I agree that although Daryl is awesome, he just isnt going to be able to carry the weight of the show especially since he has almost no emotional connection to anyone outside of maybe Carol.

I think the show will limp along for Season 10 and then hopefully, mercifully have a knife put in it's head.

I just don't know how they are going to turn Daryl into a villain, and then retain him as the main lead.

I never got the impression they were turning him into a "villain." Just that he and Maggie were supremely pissed at Rick for letting Siddiq save Negan's life. Since Daryl's basically indirectly responsible for the destruction of Alexandria (by letting the Saviors escape the Sanctuary), he should just call it a wash at this point.

The show has been on life support for a while, even with Rick in it. This will just be the final nail in the coffin.

They haven't made a great episode since Glenn's death.

Ok, so lets shift the conversation from shock and boooooo I'm done with TWD to... How will Rick be sent off?

Will he get bit by a walker, shot by Maggie or Daryl? How will Negan react?

What about the fallout from his departure?

What is a proper send off to the lead showrunner?!

Death seems the most likely option, but the only other alternative is Rick remaining in Alexandria with Judith (maybe Michonne as well if Danai Gurira wants out too) and Daryl leading the rest of the group away. It would allow Rick to live out the rest of his days in peace and also finally change the scenery after staying in Alexandria for nearly four years. But that seems unlikely.

What the hell is the writing room on?

Has to be a flashback/hallucination that Rick has I'm guessing? I wouldn't be surprised if they announce Sarah Wayne Callies coming back for an episode if this is the case.

Finally something promising. I'll watch for him

Yup. It also wouldn't make sense for them not to include Carl in that as well.

I am going to assume this has to do with some kind of hallucination of his where we see all the people he has lost as he himself is dying.

The show has been spinning its wheels for a while. How much more can you really do with this show? The plot is going in circles now.

I'm sure the show can keep going on without Andrew Lincoln, and it can probably go on for a while and people will watch it. But what's the end game here? I mean Andrew Lincoln has always been the center of the show. How does it go on without him?

I missed it was for one episode. Which is fine.

Probably because they know it will be downhill from there.

"We're playing with time in the season, so we get to jump forward in the story," Kang revealed
This show is Gimpled. It's too far gone.

When will we find out that season 10 is the last season? I'm sure it's gonna take a huge dive once Rick is gone.

I sure hope Danai is looking at other projects.

I still can't believe they're willing to pay Norman over a million an episode.

Was it ever confirmed that the $25 mil was for only one season? I figured a contract like that would be spread out over multiple years (like athletes).

I thought that too, but it was never confirmed so it seemed to be a given for 1 season. Though that'd truly be insane if true.
