The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 6 "Hounded" Discussion Thread

****ing great show!

I liked the most the scene with Rick and the phone-calls. Since I havent read the comics yet (and wont start till the show ends) it was very fascinating to see how it worked out with Rick setting up a mindtrick on himself.
Like I said in my report about episode 5, I was very confused about the fact that there could possibly still be an ordinary communication-net online so I feel kinda stupid now for me not being able to come up with this solution.
By now I would also say that the last scene of episode 5 where Rick heard his baby yell was a foreshadowing for what took place in episode 6.

Its also nice to see Rick fixing up all his sorrow and the guilt he felt towards his family and his group. Especially coz after Shanes death (killing a mate) he thought of himself that he never could be worth for Lori or the group and that its never enough what he did or would do. Also I think Hershels presence helped him a lot to realize how much he did yet and that he still has something left in him that wants this group to be safe and happy. What a great turnpoint of the show!

Beside the Rick part we also saw how much Carl has grown while the dialoge with Daryl. Daryl prooved once again why he is the favorite character of this show. Man, what a great act of him when he was suffering alone in the corridor.
That showed us how "insanely" stable his mind is. He felt so much sorrow and anger and yet he calmed down, secured the prison and still was capable of talking to Carl the way a father would do which helped him a lot IMO.

This episode really reminds me of why I love this show. Its like the episode was made to show the growth of this group.
Everyone sticking together, supporting each other and doing what they think its right while none of them lost their "humanity".

Now Im so damn excited seeing Rick and Michonne teaming up against the governor.

This will be a clash of groups that resembles the whole conflict of Walking Dead.
The governors group represents the part that lost it all while mentally giving up. These people got themself down on how the world is now (like Dale told Shane) while Ricks group represent the legacy of the civilization. Maybe one of the last few groups that stands up to protect the real "human" way of living.

What else to say?
I wonder how Rick welcomes Michonne.
Maybe sth. like "see this, guys?! im not the only one that uses zombie-bowel as carmouflage!" :woot:

PS:
Andrea is a f.... biaaaatccch !!! Michonne has to cut her hair probably next time. I would favorize her to make up a "no head" look for Andrea ;)
Oh and Michonne will be nominated for the "human-being kill of the week", right?

Ya it was all just in his lil head. Exactly what happened in the comics. But hey what do you expect? The world has been overrun with zombies/walkers, everything you knew is thrown out the window, your wife of lord knows how many years just died giving birth to your possible child, it would send a lot of people off their knockers.

Don't forget eaten. I think that was the final tipping point seeing that bloated walker.

Carol is ok and Michonne has come to help the group, yay!

I'm glad they didn't take the entire rest of the season trying to find Carol. lol

Well that's one thing Sophia didn't inherit from Carol. Carol knows how to hide:oldrazz:

Anyone else notice how as soon as glen and maggie say its a good day things go to hell straight after they say said it?

Happened when the prison was overrun and now when they got captured

Andrea has horrible taste in men. First she was into Shane and now the Gov'nor.

Great episode. That last moment between Rick and Michonne gave me chills. Loved it.

I also loved Rick's instinct of undoing his holster when approaching her.

So Rick is the only person in the prison who knows where the showers seem to be?

I don't think so lol. After the season premiere everybody was bloodied up and they all cleaned up some how lol.

Showers are said to be working on the show...I do wonder if we will get a female shower scene like in the comics. :o

Andrea hasn't been a fave of mine and her going all gooey over the gov isn't helping my opinion of her. :(

At this point if anyone has to be tortured and/or die, I hope to god it is Andrea (which I will now rename her as AINO).

I had an idea Carol was still around when they didn't show the body. It's like if I don't see the meat, I don't believe, lol. :p

Given how far they've driven TV Andrea from ever being anything close to Comics Andrea, I wonder if they might expand Jessie Anderson's role as [blackout]Rick's love interest, instead of being a temporary thing[/blackout].

Awww, man. I really don't like the idea of Merle getting to interrogate Glen and Maggie. The producers said Rick won't be losing his hand... but did they ever say someone else won't? :csad:

I don't care how "evil" they are, I think the Governor and Merle are just such awesome ****ing characters. Shows like this and Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy etc their real appeal comes from their realism and realistic portrayals of the human condition and nobody in this world is 100% good or 100% evil. It's just not how things work in the real world and it's reflected in these sort of shows and that's what make them so great. I can't help it but Merle is just so awesome. In this episode he goes and expresses concern and compassion for the young guy with his "hunting party" and then goes off and kidnaps Glenn and Maggie in an effort to locate his brother and the rest of his old group. That's why I love these shows, people have REAL motivations and reasons for acting and behaving the way they do

Honestly, I like that the TV Governor is a more subdued and subtle villain than the comics Governor, but I kind of want to see him do something evil.

So far all he's done to tip us off that he's a bad guy is massacre the soldiers and keep a room filled with heads.

Also, did anybody else notice that Micchonne had a bugout bag hidden in a tree that she retrieved??? That is one crafty chica
