The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 5, Episode 4 "Slabtown" Discussion Thread

I thought it was pretty cool something different. I assume Daryl finds Noah and takes him back to the church to get some back up. While Carol goes under cover as a new "patient".

It was an ok episode , but I wasn't as invested. The twist with Carol was a nice surprise and good to see them finally debut Noah. He's probably the one with Daryl . Next week looks exciting. I can't wait to see that shot of Abraham looking devastated.

The scene where Beth is shooting in the dark looked like something out of a video game.

I think Carol is faking it and then she will go to town on all of them.

The Beth of a few seasons ago would have never made it that far.

So....
that wasn't Carol behind Daryl last week, when he said"come out"?

Daryl wouldn't have to say that to her, it would seem out of character. Judging from the episode I'd definitely guess it's a new friend and they're getting reinforcements

I guess I had thought maybe it was still them both, but perhaps they might have been being held at gunpoint or something. :(

Is that when he finds out the truth ? Or does he think something has happened 2 Eugene ?

Seems really grim, I'm guessing someone dies or Eugene gets taken. We already know from the previews that someone crashes into that bus and it flips over. Well the new season preview showed that ...

That was my initial thought last week or that Darryl would stumble forward and fall down with an arrow sticking out of his back lol.

You know, between this, the way they took out the Hunters and Terminus, does anyone else get the feeling that all this is happening to inflate Rick's sense of ego so that it can REALLY bite him in the but when he runs into Negan's goons for the first time?

So that's why Carol didn't return with Daryl to the church at the end of last week's ep. B/c she was caught or was she? Too bad we have to wait two weeks to see how Carol ended up there. I also believe that was Noah Daryl was telling to come out at the end of "Four Walls And A Roof".

I found Dawn to be a very despicable and delusional person who abuses her power as a police officer in a world where there isn't law or order anymore. And taking in weaker people to do their bidding in return for saving and protecting them. I get the impression that Dawn likes to be treated like she's holier than thou b/c in this world she doesn't have the same authority she had before the apocalypse. So she forces that on the younger and so called weaker people.

Gorman is another one I couldn't stand and was happy to see him get his. It seems some the young women (like Joan) at that hospital have to do sexual favors in return for him protecting them Making Beth taste that lollipop after he putting it in his mouth first was sickening. That's why it was ironic that Beth knocked him on the head with that lollipop jar in Dawn's office. And fitting that walker Joan was the one to finish him off since he probably raped her before.

I'm surprised I actually enjoyed this ep with it being centered around Beth. I can't wait to see what happens next with Carol showing up. I'm somewhat disappointed it won't be next Sunday even though I'm still curious of what will happen to Maggie, Glenn, Tara and Abe's group, which will follow this ep instead.

Kind of boring-ish episode up until the end. Probably good setup for the next episode though.

Pretty dull episode really. I mean, whose idea was it to center an episode on Beth?

Oh well, at least we'll get to see Carol kill a lot of annoying people.

It looks like a flashback of Abraham's backstory.

I almost guarantee that's what it is.

Anyway, I liked this episode. It was a nice change of pace and scenery. This season continues what has been the longest stretch of good episodes in the show's history. I feel like we're now at the point where the potential that was always there and only occasionally tapped into is getting much more utilized now.

I really enjoyed it myself.

Yeah, I'm really not seeing the dull. You want dull? Go back and watch that ****ing terrible Daryl/Beth episode from last season. THAT was dull.

I'm also so pissed I had the ending spoiled for me a few days ago, but I'm intrigued by what comes next.

Also that lollipop scene was upsetting. :o

I agree with both of the above, except for the Daryl/Beth episode "Still" [412] from Season 4, it was one of my favorite episodes. For dull I'd have to drum up an episode from Season 2.

I really enjoyed seeing these new characters and the system they had in place. I grew fond of Edwards near the middle until he lied to Beth, and I really like Noah. I hope this shuts up anyone who says that Beth can't handle herself, she went crazy on those walkers, and was very strategic with everything she did involving the cops. She's grown some major back bone and has greatly developed since season two; Emily Kinney did amazingly portraying the girl and I'm glad that she's been given this chance to show us her stuff.

After all that has happened this episode I'm a bit disappointed we'll be switching over to the Abraham group (one that has been boring in my book) but this season has been on a roll, I'm sure they'll make next episode interesting as well.

This episode wasn't dull. Everyone's just impatient, just like the rest of us, wanting to find out what happened with the other story arcs.

If we were watching it on Netflix, far fewer of you would be complaining because you would get your fix sooner.
