The Warriors 2010 Remake

The only thing that is gonna be the same from the original, that I know is the beginning of the movie when they have the meeting.

Like other people have said. GUNS. At least in the Warriors, it wasn't when there was such a high number of guns being used in each gang. Now there's loads of them.

Also they cannot use guns. Cyrus can have it that no gang bring weapons on them to the metting like in the original.

Yeah. And? The whole point in the original Warriors is that someone brought a gun when you weren't supposed to. And plus... if it's supposed to be 'realistic' like they said they wanted to make it... that means those gang members would be super glued to their guns. Especially when there's going to be hundreds of them at a meeting like in the Warriors.

I think that the fun thing is that the original Warriors was a silly but charming romp.

If the new Warriors uses real gangs, there's a fine line to cross, to not romanticize these dudes. I love urban grit, like HBO's The Wire, but if you're telling people that it's okay to be a gang member with out dire consequences, then they need to rethink it a bit.

A gang movie in LA. Hmm. Would the Wariiors be the crips or bloods? Instead of each gang having its own gimmick how about race on race? You can have the asian gang, the mexican gang, the blacks, aryan brothers.. ah this wont work.

Nightmare the movie will be fine. Each gang will proably have their own gimmick.

And Ocroberists, they will not make it that gang violence is cool. People know they have dire consequences. They will however have some realism to it. But still expect it to be colorful and silly.

The Warriors is a cult classic and a personal favorite of mine. It's just so...out there, from the '70's culture and the beautiful cinematography of an ugly and scary New York. And don't forget the far-fetched gangs and uniforms.

I wouldn't want to see a remake, especially by Tony Scott who hasn't made a good film in years, imo.

Well their is still time for them to change things for the movie. Maybe Tony Scott will drop it and another director comes and picks it up.

And they could always have the movie take place back in the day like in the 70s or maybe 60s. Does not have to take place in modern times.

Whats wrong with remaking films? It had a cult following not a mainstream one. So it has the right to be remade. And as long as the movie is good or better then the original, I see no problem with remaking it.

Therein lies the problem....more often than not the remakes are crap. Come up with an original idea and stop trying to make someone elses "better" when there was nothing wrong with it to begin with.

They coming up with their own ideas but people keep *****ing that their is not like the original. In the reamke the movie will take place in LA, with the modern day gang system, and all the characters will be different minus 2 Warrior members and Cyrus.

Do we really need to see gang fights between the Crips and Bloods??? It's a jackassery of a concept which will aid in gloryfying these two "factions". But whatevs. Let em make it but IMO it's not a good idea.

I'm a big Walter Hill fan (48 Hrs, Extreme Prejudice, Streets of Fire, The Long Riders, Last Man Standing), but I've never liked THE WARRIORS. Good idea, didn't like what they made with it. So I hope this remake is getting made (first time I say that).

No it doesnt. Its fine. Theres nothing wrong with the movie. Theres nothing that needs to be improved on.

Not improving on really but making it is own movie. Have the new generation see a new Warriors movie. As for the bloods and crips thing, they can just do the original format and have regualr street gangs in it.

Hey man no one complained when they remade FT13 or any of them horror movies. Nothing wrong with remaking this. Ton of people who have never heard of Warriors before. So thats a good reason to remake it.
